The Judeo-Christian god is claimed to be omnipotent. He could do anything, that is exactly what the word means.

If he wanted he could have caused the big bang to specifically create me typing these words right now. If fact as it is claimed he is omnicognizant, he must have done so.

However, this creates problems for some people who believe that the words in the bible are absolute and inerrant.

The big bang, formation of the galaxy, solar system, Earth, the formation of life and evolution, are at odds with the words of the bible. Apologetics can try to spin it, but it just does not work.

These people can not deal with the bible not being an absolute and so deny reality.

The problem they have with this I believe comes from two things:

1) If the bible is allegorical in parts, then which parts? could it ALL be allegorical? If it was where would their belief go?

2) If evolution is correct, and life is still evolving, then how do we know that we are god's final plan? If he can have dinosaurs around for millions of years before zapping them into extinction why do we think that we are the true end target? Maybe god is just lining us up so that we can set the scene for the rats to take over?

The Bible begins with a polemic. It tells precisely, and authoritatively how everything began. Evolution does not leave room to believe the Biblical account of creation.
As far as theistic evolution is concerned, it is another idea someone came up with to try and reconcile the two different camps, in the hope of converting some. They put out many "proofs" and their arguments seem quite convincing. In the end though, if you study the Bible closely, you will see that God did not use evolution.
It truly IS either/or.

The biggest conflict is that the Bible says that Adam was created about 4000 BC. But then there was the discovery of the Neanderthal Man that lived 350,000 years ago.... So did Adam come before the Neanderthal? Because Adam according to the Bible was the first man on the Earth or is it saying that the Neanderthal Man wasn't really a man and was considered a..... I don't know.... an ape? in God's eyes?

Evolution and several other sciences only conflict with the literal reading of the Bible.

I do think God creates through a process - I think the big problem is the amount of time evolution is "supposed" to need to happen. The bible clearly states that the earth is about 6,000 to 7,000 years old. Evolution on the other hand says that the earth is billions of years old. Thus the conflict.

They demand a literal interpretation of the bible, including genesis. That means all the evidence that goes against a biblical creation 6,000 years ago proves genesis wrong, so they bash the science.

They demand a literal interpretation of the bible because they don't want people wondering what parts of the bible are metaphors and which parts are literal. That would be like thinking for yourself.

Because it does! If the Bible is the inspired word of God and it says that the world was created in 6 days, but the evilutionists say it took billions of years, us there not a direct conflict there?

Yes, God can create anything. He is the Almighty Creator.
I have actually searched for a religion that encompasses both theories but I can't find one.
I believe in God but some other ideas can't be ruled out.

No.

According to the bible, God created in six days, male came before female, man is superior to everything else on the planet, etc.

Evolution infers that we are all equal--humans, protozoa, plants, whatever. You see, we are all, at this moment, the best our evolutionary forebears have to offer.

So, quit destroying the planet, there won't be any apocalypse where the earth will be 'reborn' and all the damage we're doing gets swept away.

Evolution doesn't preclude a creator, it just negates everything that Judeo/Christian/Islamic books, teachings, and people stand for.

Evolution only conflicts with an absolute, literal interpretation of the bible. Which explains why the fundies are all up in arms about it.
