Not for anything they've done, but for protection against the so called vicars and priests that seem to prey on children for their disgusting habbits. Again another vicar was in the paper the other day for years of molesting children. We need to protect them.

The reason for that question was simple. I just wanted to find out how many Christians know what they are saying. If you have viewed the answers you will know what I mean.
Honestly, I was a Christian, but I am out of it now, no offence to Christians.
After thorough reading and research, I decided to quit cos there is too much confusion in the religion. One example will be the question I posted. Just see the different types of answers from Christians. Isn't it appalling?
If you ask a Jew, who is your God, he will reply you Yahweh immediately. If you ask a Muslim, who is your God, he will reply you Allah immediately.
But, why is it not as straightford in Christianity?
And definitely, I will not buy this story that I have to let Jesus into my heart to understand the meaning. If you are going to preach, I believe that you have to feed Logic into their Minds and the rest will be ez.

1 Corinthians 9:20 ---To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to men under the Law, [I became] as one under the Law, though not myself being under the Law, that I might win those under the Law.

And yet he wrote the LAW is Holy.

Romans 7:12 -- So that the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good.

God is eternal but nothing else is? Well I want to know where he came from. I don't understand the concept of something always existing. And I don't see how someone who believes that can think that evolution is far fetched. In fact I don't see how someone who believes that can think anything is far fetched.

Then, how do you explain VESTIGIAL ORGANS?

The VERMIFORM APPENDIX is a vestige of the cecum, an organ that may have been used to digest cellulose by humans' herbivorous ancestors.[citation needed] Analogous organs in other animals similar to humans continue to perform that function, whereas other meat-eating animals may have similarly diminished appendices. The modern functionality of the appendix is still controversial in the field of human physiology, although most scientists and physicians believe that it has little or no function.....

The COCCIX, or tailbone, is the remnant of a lost tail. All mammals have a tail at one point in their development; in humans, it is present for a short time during embryonic development. The tailbone, located at the end of the spine, has lost its original function in assisting balance and mobility, though it still serves some secondary functions, such as being an attachment point for muscles, which explains why it has not degraded further.

Genesis 17:9-10 ---Then God said to Abraham, "As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come. This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised.

Galatians 5:2 ---- Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all.

Any good scientific theory can make predictions, either of what we will observe, or what we should find. If it cannot make such predictions, then it has nothing to do with reality. If it fails at its predictions, then it is false or incomplete.

Neo-Darwinism makes predictions, and those predictions are confirmed with every archaeological discovery. All life on Earth is derived from common ancestors, and finding organisms without DNA would disprove that. Yet all lifeforms on Earth have DNA. All life on Earth is hierarchical, and both the morphological and molecular hierarchies converge. Our discovery of transitional forms follow this hierarchy : we have plenty of transitions between reptiles and birds and reptiles and mammals, for example, but none between, say, birds and mammals. If we did find such a form, it would be a problem for Neo-Darwinism !

I was talking to a girl who don't believe in heaven. She made me think. She said that people want to believe in heaven so that they don't have to be scared of dying but there is no heaven.

What's your view on that?

I just watched an episode of Engaged and Underaged on MTV and have a question about the Mormon church. In the episode the couple was Mormon but the guy's family was not, so they were not allowed in the church for the ceremony. Why is this? I'm really not trying to bash anyone's beliefs or religion, this just seemed to edge on cult behavior to me. Why wouldn't the groom's family be allowed in the church?

Just curious. Any scholars on here that could explain this to me?
For example, how did they know that Matthew the tax collector, who was an apostle of Jesus Christ, was actually the author of Matthew?
I know some of the books make authorship plain. However, some of them don't.
This may seem trivial, but it's not trivial to me.

And as much as I hate to request it, PLEASE be respectful!

I know I can say that I have. Various times. I've found that god responds back to me & helps when I make a promise to him to reverse a sin that I commit daily. Per example, throw trash on the floor or be an angry person. I promise to be nicer person & I keep my promise. All of a sudden, the pain that I had on my back for an entire is completely gone. Miracle? I don't think so. & so many other various occasions he has done the same. I think that just asking god to help us is just not gonna do it. Everybody sins. Wheather its yelling at you mother, using bad language, doing drugs-etc. I just want to know who else out there has faith & what times has god helped you in?
