Not for anything they've done, but for protection against the so called vicars and priests that seem to prey on children for their disgusting habbits. Again another vicar was in the paper the other day for years of molesting children. We need to protect them.

Should be ban kids froom going to school? Teachers there have been known to abuse them. Should they banned from going home? Parents have been known to abuse them. Should they be banned from WalMart? They have been kidnapped there.
Bad people are everywhere. Parents have to relize that. A "Man of God" can lie just like anyone else. But no children certainly shouldn't be banned from anwhere for thier protection. That's what parents are for.

NO children should not be banned. Parents should know better then to let their children hang out with adults- no matter their position. My church is proactive in taking care of this problem before it starts. They came in and put windows in all the classroom doors. There has always been a policy that people doing mid-week activities with children, should have another adult with them, especially scouting activities. Now they made a new policy, men are no longer allowed to teach a children's class on Sunday alone. They either have their wife with them or they have to have another man from the church come in with them. This was done to protect the children from predators - not that we really have that problem- and to protect the adult from false accusations from the children and parents.

Parents need to remember that just because someone is church going, does not mean that they won't hurt children. Unfortunatly there will always be those, who go to church to prey on the innocent. It is really not a good plan for people to allow their children to just "hang out" with adult church leaders. This is really an issue of parental responsibility. There will still be children who are victimized, no matter how hard we try to protect them, but we need to do all that we can- parents need to do all that they can.

There must be about 10 million priests in the world (there's about a billion Catholics) and if we say there is 50 cases a year (one every week) of a priest being found out to be a paedo this is still a very low % of the total number, indeed probably lower than most other professions.

Is there anything wrong in destroying a Priest or Vicar that has molested a child?

To Forgive such serial offenders, and then allow them to continue in the name of God is pure unrelenting evil...

How about sending them to a Church without vicars/priests etc? And yes they do exist, Brethren Churches don't have someone 'in charge' other than God.

I think Vicars and Priests and other religious clergy should just stick to keeping their hands in their pockets.

It's sick what some people do.

Ummm thumbs down? So someone thinks it's not sick that religious clergy use their "authority" for purposes other than defending the name of God? Interesting ...

Yes, yes, you don't like the Church. That's obvious from your question although you don't say it outright.

Did you know there are far more sexual predators in the general population than there are in the Catholic Church? What are you doing to protect the children in your neighborhood, on the internet and in the world?

The Catholic Church definitely needs to do more to get priests who abuse and engage in homosexuality BANNED from performing their duties, but then again, the Church is not the only place you will find sexual deviants.

We are all sinners.

no children shouldn't be banned from churches, but priests and vicars and all others who hurt children should be more harshly punished for what they do.

a newborn is hardwired to believe what ever you tell them. "supply me the boy till the age of 7, i'm going to offer you the guy". in case you tutor a newborn faith (any faith) they'll very probably pass to their grave believing it. it is purely the way the human concepts works. no person would think of to call their newborn a Republican or a Democrat because of the fact it fairly is known that they don't posses the required existence journey to make this way of decision yet those self same human beings have not have been given any difficulty labeling their newborn a Christian, Muslim, Athiest, etc.

No, but as much as I hate to say it, they shouldn't be left alone with adults in situations that are ripe for an adult to take advantage of.

What we need to do is keep these men away from kids. And if that means they don't get to celebrate mass (or whatever) anymore, so be it. Let them go work in prisons or something.
