My 11th grade teacher (a woman before or after my own heart and mind) has taken up a new faith(i think as recently as last year). So now she's Jewish and a fenicky person when it comes to how she dresses and eats and so on. Foe two years I've wanted to start a restaurant and I've almost acheived that goal , and i remember the extra time she spent with me after school helping me get the concept of the perfect essay and the deeper meanings in litterature (in my mind she was kinda my older sister) Any way she eats Kosher things, and quote frankly, i'm not at all completly sure what the word means. can some one please tell me and perhaps even give and example of things i should buy for the restaurant? It would mean so much to me ^^

beacause of some similarities between each other, but ignore the vast similarities between Jesus himself and horus the son of isis? You can't have it booth ways if your going to claim that catholics christianized isis into mary why not say that catholics also christianized horus into Jesus?

All I'm asking is a reasonable question. Why should someone believe in God. I'm asking it earnestly. I'm asking it in good faith.

Now, I'm not asking for proof of God by using his definition as proof. Please don't use the Bible as evidence, in that I have not yet accepted it as a divine testament. In fact, if you don't know what the term circular logic means, please refrain form answering.

I want to know. This isn't a taunt. this isn't a trick. I don't want you to doubt your faith. I would just like a clear, well reasoned argument for the belief in God.

The first 3 words of the Bible are.."In the Beginning"...which, to me, suggests that time has a specific starting point. If this is true...what was in existence 5 seconds before "the beginning"? To me, it would be a logical impossibility for time to NOT exist. Without time, NOTHING would exist. I personally believe that time, along with space and matter, are all constants. Therefore, could the Bible's claim that there was a "beginning" be a logical fallacy???

In a holy way -would ridding the hairs around the area above biffin
bridge be a way into heaven.
I believe it was in Jethro 4:16
And lo,it was seen, the saviour had a bald ball bag,
and lo, verily,it was said, where for art thou hairs lord?
and lo, verily ,he said ,I have shaved them off with my Mach3 razor,
and lo,behold , Gillette became a sacrament for hirsute heathens.

I mean, if they *know* that there is no God, then why are they so vocal about it? Why are they angered by those who practice religion? I would think that to an atheist, it won't make a difference in the end (i.e. at death) whether somebody practices religion or not... inevitably, they both end up six feet under.

We read in Judges 13:18, "And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret?" In the interlinear "secret" means uncomprehensible or wonderful.
"Wonderful" is one of Christ's titles(Isaiah 9:6).

Please note the language in Zechariah 3:2 as compared with Jude 1:9.. "And the LORD said unto Satan, the LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?"
"Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee."

And finally in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 we read, "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first;"

1 Thess 4:16 says expresly that the Lord (Christ) will shout bringing the true believers to heaven and ending the universe

So as part of his usual chores, Bobby, a little boy, is expected to go outside each night after dinner to fetch his father's late-edition newspaper. The family lives on a farm and the driveway where the paper is delivered is a long one.

Come winter and the earlier, darker nights, Bobby begins to show some serious signs of stress at the prospect of going outside, all alone, to march down the driveway.

His mother asks him why he's being so nervous. "Mom." Bobby confesses, "it's just so dark out there, I'm afraid."

The mother says, "Bobby, my darling child, you must know that, no matter how dark it may be, Jesus it there. Jesus is out there, behind every, scary tree and in every shadow."

With this the boy lights up with a huge smile of relief and his mother blushes with Christian pride. Then Bobby sticks his arm, and only his arm, out the door and yells,

"Hey Jesus! Long as you're out there, can you hand me the paper?"

I hear a lot of athiest say that christians are close minded. However isn't it a close minded statement to say that there is no God. This is no insult, I just think to say this is to say "I know everything." In that case, what does it take to know everything. Wouldn't that mean exploring not only this earth but the entire universe to come up with the conclusion that there is no God? Science and possibilities go hand in hand. So if knowing everything means to have explored and exhausted everything in the universe which no one on this earth has done, then isn't there a POSSIBILITY that there is a God? I am not saying you have to believe it or not but what I am saying is that maybe you should at least be open enough to say that there is a possibility rather than to say there is not one at all.

Four old Catholic women are sitting around bragging about their sons. The first Catholic woman tells her friends "My son is a priest. When he walks into a room, everyone calls him 'Father'."

The second Catholic woman chirps, "My son is a bishop. Whenever he walks into a room, people call him 'Your Grace'."

The third Catholic mother says "My son is a cardinal. Whenever he walks into a room, he's called 'Your Eminence'."

Since the fourth Catholic woman sips her coffee in silence, the first three women turn to her and say, "Well...?"

So she replies, "My son is 6' 2, terribly handsome with broad, square shoulders... good manners, dresses very well. He's got a tight, muscular body and tight, hard buns and a very nice bulge. Whenever he walks into a room, women say, 'Oh, my God!'"

Or "you", the reader. I'm not saying I think this is the case. I don't know. The principle says to make as few assumptions as possible. I can't prove you exist so I have no basis to assume you do. Isn't this simpler that the alternative?

I mean, look at the evidence according to your own bible. First in the garden of eden, he lets satan plant that tree. Then he lies to adam and says he'll die if he eats from it. Then adam eats it, and god has to call out to adam to see where he is. Instead of your usual "free will" arguement, which gets really old btw, perhaps this is because god's not as powerful as he'd like you to think? Maybe he couldn't remove the tree or keep satan from planting it. Maybe he couldn't stop adam from eating it, free will or not. Think about it. Why would this all-powerful being create a race by starting off with only 2. And, free will or not, create 2 being whom he had to know beforehand would choose to eat the apple. Why not create 2 who used their free will not to eat the apple? Maybe because he had no control of this? Maybe because man has the potential to be as a god (at god's own admission) and this so-called superbeing is just trying to keep man from reaching his true potential?

Have you noticed that most prophets, if not all, are MALES.
Have you noticed that all gods are MEN.
Ever wondered why?
Men at that time were far more dominant than women.
From Zeus, to Jesus, to Allah and Mohammed, men have always portrayed their gods and prophets as men.
Their masculine pride lead them to depict God as a man.
The Chrisitans, tried to make a slight difference, they intoduced the concept of Virgin Mary.
Yet even in Christianity, women don't share deity. The Father is obviously a male. So is the son. Virgin Mary is not God.
How can God's mother not be a god?
This phenomena is still apparent today.
Notice, when referring to God, do you call him a HE or a SHE?
Girls, you have been brainwashed. The Christian God is sexist.

This isn't for those who believe that the earth is 6000 years old and god created the universe in 6 days. This is for the more rational of the Christian faith who attempt to reconcile the stories of the old Testament with the reality of science.

What do you think he was doing for 3.5 billion years? Before he decided on the next step in Intelligent Design?

I'm not trying to make people mad here...I just want some opinions. Would you say it's reasonable to think that if your gay (born gay or became gay later in life, either way) that you should not peruse your sexual urges in order to stay true to word of God? Sort of like a pedophile that has urges towards children. Sure they have these urges but that doesn't mean its ok to follow through with them. And who hasn't had a bi fantasy at one time or another???? Most do not follow through with it because they know it's wrong.
What do you think? And yes I'm ready to get bashed so go ahead.

A man wanted to become a monk so he went to the monastery and talked to the head monk.

The head monk said, "You must take a vow of silence and can only say two words every three years."

The man agreed and after the first 3 years, the head monk came to him and said, "What are your two words?"
"Food cold!" the man replied.

Three more years went by and the head monk came to him and said "What are your two words?"
"Robe dirty!" the man exclaimed.

Three more years went by and the head monk came to him and said, "What are your two words?"
"I quit!" said the man.

"Well, the head monk replied, I am not surprised. You have done nothing but complain ever since you got here!"

Mary questions the angel by saying how could she give birth to a child if shes a virgin, but at the same time she was bethrothed to Joseph... why would she ask this question if she was about to marry Joseph... If she was expecting to have sex with her future husband then wouldn't she know that they would conceive a child like that.
Luke 1:31,34
Where were they when Jesus was lost as a child? Luke 2:41-51
Where were they when Jesus gave his mother to John?
John 19:26-27
It's clear that the "brothers and sisters" of Jesus were all disciples/ or even apostles of Jesus since they're mentioned in the upper room with the other apostles. So there was no excuse for Jesus not handing over Mary to his other brothers Acts Of Apostles 1:14. Mary the mother of Jesus had a sister named mary of Cleopas John 19:25. James and Joseph are listed as the "brothers of Jesus". James and Joseph are also the sons of Mary of cleopas (the sister of the mother of Jesus) Matt. 27:56; Mark 15:47.
