Why is mary called the "Queen of Heaven?" Who gave her this title?

Where do he/she/they get the authority to do so?

Where in the Bible does God condone or give this title?

Anyone want to help?

I'm just curious. I know a lot of people don't believe in God, but don't always know why.

A preacher was told by his doctor that he had only a few weeks left to live.
He went home feeling very sad, and when his wife heard the sad news she said to him, "Honey, if there's anything I can do to make you happy, tell me."
The preacher answered, "You know, dear, there's that box in the kitchen cabinet with what you always called "your little secret" in it and you said you never would want me to open it as long as you lived. Now that I'm about to go home to be with the Lord, why don't you show me what's in that secret box of yours?"

The preacher's wife got out the box and opened the lid. It contained £100,000 and three eggs.

"What are those eggs doing in the box?" the preacher asked.

"Well, Honey," she replied, "every time your sermon was really bad I put an egg in the box." .............................

He could have had Jesus nailed on a cross, in a public place or not, in a matter of seconds, using His (the Father's) powers. Why use the human intermediars to fulfill a destiny He had designed Himself?

(of course I understand the historical and political consequences of this second course of action, but I think it is claimed in the Bible that the *sole* purpose for Jesus' sacrifice was saving the human race, not spreading of the word of God, and in this case, a solitary and divine crucifixion would have been just as good...)

Someone came to my door asking if I'd found Jesus. My response was to tell him to get all of his friends and I'd get mine and we'd form a search party. Either that, or when he found him to let me know.

Anyone else have this problem often?

Seriously...it's like they have run out of things to dispute or ask about so they resort to asking stupid questions about crocducks and Jesus and Muhammad in obscene sexual situations...it's annoying...is it so hard to get an acutal decent, thought out question out of them? And I am more than prepared for all the stupid answers I am going to receive to this question...I swear maybe some of us are still apes.

Writing about death and afterlife in the Jewish tradition. If you have any insights or experiences, feel free to answer. Preferably someone who is Jewish. Maybe write about your beliefs in death and where your soul goes and what your religion says about it. Thanks.

I Wiki'd this

"Intelligent design proponent Stuart Pullen challenged the concept of abiogenesis on the grounds that the creation of life from nonlife would violate the above law, since creation of living organisms must be associated with a decrease in the entropy of the system.[4] This challenge has been refuted on the grounds that the Earth is not an isolated system, but an open system receiving energy from the Sun, and that the time scales in which such large systems reach equilibrium can be very long, during which time local fluctuations in entropy are perfectly feasible under the second law."

If the Bishops were aware of their misconduct, why did they relocate them to congregations not privy of their history, only to continue the abuse? Instead they should have been defrocked immediately and placed under mental intervention. Other religions have scandals of their own, involving one or two pastors, but the Catholic Church outdoes the notoriety just by the sheer numbers of sexual offenders existing in clergy.

I'm an Orthodox Christian and I don't think the best arguments for Christianity can be given by a former teenaged sitcom star. Does anyone else agree with me?

if there is so much order and the world is so intelligently designed, why do feel the need to create or alter the order of things in order to form civilizations? everytime we lay down a road, every time forests are demolished in order to put up a new mini-mall, isn't this a slap in the face to god's perfect design? why do we bother to shave, bathe, and groom ourselves regularly? shouldn't god's design for us be perfect the way it is? if god designed the earth to have such beautiful sunsets and sunrises, why do some people get stricken with skin cancer for enjoying the sun too much? why would we need to invent things like sun block?

Isn't this what the Apostle Paul says in Romans?

I do not believe this statement...but, do you fundamentalist Christians, who believe the Bible should be interpreted literally agree?

If you do not agree with this statement...how do you pick and choose which verses to follow literally?

..., which means that he *was* pulling strings and tampering with our will (otherwise, who knows, God forbid, maybe the Romans wouldn't have convicted and executed Jesus!), then why didn't He make it easy on everybody by pulling some strings right in the beginning, in the Garden of Eden?

I mean, didn't He know, even back then, that He will anyway end up forgiving the humans? Why drag it on for so long, involve Jesus, and all?

The reason I ask is that there is a lot of killing, sexual promiscuity, dirty name calling and bigotry in that little book, and I don't think it should be within children's reach.

Maybe when they're older it's an OK book to read, but those Bibles are always left in a drawer that little kids can reach.
