Well, I'm what you would call a logical thinker, and I commonly use logistics to prove the bible.
But, I would say you've run into people who are incapable of critical thinking. I would also say that God is beyond logistics ;)

Because logic depends on facts and it is not a scientifically proven fact that God does not exist or that God does exist. Science does not know and has not proved it either way. Neither has science been able to scientifically prove our existence after death or our non existence after death. People make assumptions about what science knows and doesn't know. You can't make a logical argument with-out facts. It is however logical to say that a mysterious and all powerful being is a threatening and frightening concept for human beings and so therefor making something like that up does not make sense. It is also logical to say that if generation after generation pray to God with no result yet still believe in its existence then there must be a reason why they lay down their lives, literally. It is also not logical to endanger your life by holding to something that doesn't exist, yet thousands of people have been persecuted because of their religious beliefs. Is it logical to say that all these thousands are collectively mental or weak minded? Look at the FACTS and stick with them.

Because to apply logic to God destroys any case for him, especially when you apply Occam's Razor. The simplest answer is most likely the correct one. Of course theists say, "God did it" is the simplest answer. Then we apply logic and reply, "only if you fiat his existence which circumvents logic." Then it gets dicey for the theist because one cannot prove the existence of God. Saying he exists outside time and space is a cop out. Using the same logic in a court of law we could convict people because we "feel" they are guilty and have faith in that.

Update for those who say we can't use logic to understand concepts like love: Love is purely a biological reaction, chemically not far from the effect of consuming large portions of chocolate. It brings together bonds in the species, good since we are pack animals, and helps in mating rituals. See, logical, scientific explanation for love. Got another one?

Update 2: one cannot prove the non-existence of something. The burden of proof is on the one postulating the existence of said thing. Until that happens, it doesn't exist.

When I read the New Testament, I see Jesus Christ applying logic to a lot of situations. His parables are replete with logic. His responses to his opponents could not be refuted... it is the main reason that they had a very, very hard time finding anything in his teachings which meritted capital punishment, even though they sought that end on him from almost the beginning of his ministry.

If, however, your question really is, why is there no evidence to support religion, while there is ample evidence to support agnosticism, then my answer is that there is evidence, but it is certainly circumstantial at best. However, this is intentional. God wants us to exercise faith... he wants us to respond to his commandments, even though we can't possibly know for certainty of his existance.

I have heard from several different christians worded in several different ways all saying the same thing: their god is above and beyond human logic. This god is so superior that we cannot understand him with our inferior human minds.

In other words, of course God makes no sense. If you could understand him, he wouldn't be an all powerful god. So in essence, no sense makes sense... with the Christian god.

Why does that sound so familiar? "No sense makes sense"

Ah yes, Charlie Manson!! He used the same methods and applied the same principles to his teachings. The only difference was his goal or desired result. Christianity is a cult.

Many Christian fundies have their own logic called the holy Bible. They believe that God wrote the book through scribes.
Their logic tells them that god would not allow it to be translated wrong.

Because logic can only take you so far. There are many things in this universe that supersede mere logic. Logic is constrained by the human brain.
Is that so hard to understand?? Maybe you can use logic to find out what's wrong w your car, but can you use it to explain why you love your wife?
Oh yeah, I have one more thing to say,"Duh."

Because religion is based on faith. If you have faith in something no amount of logic will make you change your mind. Logic can't prove god but it can't disprove god either. So that just leaves faith.

certainly, Atheism lacks no longer merely evidence yet no information the two. Christianity has 100s of fulfilled predictions that's impossible different than by an all-understanding supernatural source. The Bible says that we as Christians have the information previous actual looking doubt. as nicely, there is the endorsement of Holy Spirit conviction that Christ is the two the Son of guy and God the Son. another faith is an imposture created by devil and his demons.

God is the single most logical answer.
