I'm an Orthodox Christian and I don't think the best arguments for Christianity can be given by a former teenaged sitcom star. Does anyone else agree with me?

Well he is one of the most vocal fundamentalists, producing a number of videos and such that argue (not effectively whatsoever) for christian dogma.

Of course he is horridly un-educated when it comes to science, history and such, plus he is not adept with logical thinking or the concept of evidence.

To be fair in that debate, the rational response squad is rather good, but there are better and more educated, well-spoken advocates of atheism and opponents to superstitious nonsense out there. For instance if it had been Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, or Richard Carrier up there debating it, then there would have been some stronger arguments. There were a couple of RRS points that could have been better.

Recall what Jesus told the Disciples when the Doubtful Thomas finally placed his hands in Jesus' pierced side and placed his fingers in the nailholes on Jesus' palms....

"Blessed are those who haven't seen but believe."

The Gospel is witness to the above event. Kirk Cameron's generation has seen remote control war, oral sex in the White House, controlled demolition of 2 NYC skyscrapers, Enron, Worldcom, Columbine, Oklahoma City and Gulf War II. Not even Roman Emperors Caligula and Nero could dream up some of these events and both of them slew millions of Christians. Yet, the Gospel remains unchanged even as the hearts of men harden like Pharoh's who refused to let the Jews leave Egypt with Moses.

I'm an atheist and I agree with you.Rational Response Squad could definitely handle a tougher debate than Kirk Cameron could provide.

On the contrary - Kirk Cameron surprised me by just how smart he is. I know where he was going with many of his points, althought he struggled with some and with others, just like the Rational Response Squad, he could not finish because the format did not allow for lengthy explanations and evidence to be broughtforth.

For one who never claims to be a scientist, he did a good job.

Jujus silly response is typical of christians who don't like to think. Who cares that his argument was goofy, or that it completely sidestepped the point that the claimed to make. At least he is trying to make a point. This silly way of thinking is typical of religious types, as no atheist would be converted by such infantile arguments. Juju, you should be ashamed of yourself too.

Have you watched how they give people no alterntive but to say how horrible they are. If you want to bring people to Christ telling them how horrible they are is not the way to do it. You need to lead by example in a kind and loving matter that is what Christ would have done.
It's the same at work if you want someone to be a better worker tell them everything they are doing right and they will become better in those areas they need improvement in.

He definitely needs a science lesson...like most other fundamentalist Christians.

And no, he isn't a good representative for Christians. Likewise, I'm not sure that the Rational Response Squad are good representatives for atheists, either.

human beings might desire to be careful what they are putting for the time of while they choose to characterize any team! I do think of the banana difficulty is exceedingly goofy and non-conclusive, yet nowhere close to as unfavourable as people who call themselves Christians, yet then act hateful or judgmental of others and cause them to think of we are all raving lunatics and hypocrites! i don't think of those adult adult males did from now on injury to the belief of Christianity, nonetheless, just to their very own careers and credibility.

I agree with you 100%. The movie he was in, "Left behind" is one of the most idiotic, delusional movies ever, "Attack of the killer tomatoes" has more truth in it. I really believe that Hollywood life was too hard on him and he cracked...

Kirk Cameron is a brilliant man and you should be ashamed.

According to his partner, his appearance on the debate ruined Kirk's Hollywood career! He's almost given up more than Jesus did!
