Why is it that someone that won't believe in God because you can't see him will believe a psychic when she says "Your dead loved one is standing right behind you"...you can't see them either....why would you believe their there just because she say they are?

I like your question! There are many people that do believe in things like that, but then use that excuse for not believing in God.

Also, though, I wonder why it is that Christians would not believe in the psychic stuff (or maybe they do.. I don't know.. I am a Christian, and I know what *I* believe, but I don't know what all Christians believe)..

It's definitely a good question though.. If you can't believe in one thing because you can't see it.. then you can't believe in the other thing if you can't see it either.. (so people need to find some new excuses for not believing in God :) heh)

For the very same reason that people who do not believe in psychic powers will believe in God. Most people believe what they want rather than what proves to be true.

because when people go to psychics people put ALOT of money on the table and they don't want to look like a fool. Too late I say.

Funny scenario.
My husband made a delivery to a psychic and she told him "If I knew you were coming today I would have called for help to help you move it."

My husband said (this is great)
"and your the psychic"

She was not amused but we all were.

Maybe it's because that person was once a person and if you've seen something before it's easier to believe it still exists than to believe in something that you've never had any real proof of. Maybe it's because they want to believe that their loved one still loves them. Maybe it's because they do see them or feel thim. Maybe it's because they want to believe that there is life after death, but not necessarily believe in God. Who knows? Why is it that some people believe in a God with no proof but believe in predetermination? Don't know. The world is full of paradoxes and contradictions.

Atheism does not equal believing in psychics.

Are there any people like that here? The same things that lead you to be an Atheist are going to lead you to discount psychic ability.

Dear Kristen 747:

An excellent question; it not only shows depth it shows your intelligence as well. I don't have an answer for you however, I choose to put my faith in one God and one God only. Anything beyond is no more than fabrication.

"Good job"
