Dr. Beckwith is the current president of the Evangelical Theological Society. This is very encouraging and I wonder if we are witnessing the next Newman but for the Evangelical Protestant community this time around.

see the following link for his testimonial http://rightreason.ektopos.com/archives/2007/05/my_return_to_th.html

I was watching to see how soon people would respond to this question, it seems like me you all got "caught up" as the Evangelicals like to say in reading the story.

Yes I too was surprised by some of the uglyness found in comments by those opposed to Dr. Beckwith coming into full communion. I'm remember of JPII as he stepped out onto the balcony and spoke his first words as the Holy Father quoting scripture (just in case non-catholic minds are listening) "be not afraid". If Evangelicalism in Protestantism is truth it has nothing to fear and should not present a ugly face to this courageous man.

I did not know this.

I read the entire article (and a few of the comments) and am greatly impressed with Dr. Beckwith.

Had I had the opportunity before he closed his blog, I would say to him "Welcome Home"

I wonder if Marcus Grodi (from EWTN's Journey Home) would be interested in talking with Dr. Beckwith?

Thanks for the link. I understand his journey as he gave exactly the same reasons as the conclusions I came to a little over five years ago when I converted to Catholicism after being a Protestant for over fifty years and a Protestant minister for 25 of those years. Welcome home Dr. Beckwith!

I have followed his story as of late and can't help but feel that the Church is extremely blessed to have had him "come home". I commend him for his strength through his ordeals.

I was in shock at some of the comments his friends and coworkers made in regards to his conversion.

Below is a link to his homepage.
