NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A victims' rights group released documents Thursday that showed the Jehovah's Witnesses recently settled civil suits with 16 people who claimed they were sexually abused by church elders or that church officials failed to act on abuse allegations.
The group, called silentlambs, held a news conference in Nashville to demand that the denomination change its policy for responding to sex abuse reports.

These are people who have fought all the way to the Supreme Court in multiple cases to establish their rights.

Why, this time, are they settling without going to court? Could it be the approximately 27,000 cases of reported sexual abuse in their internal files that would have to be made public? Hmmm?

Just so they could be hated or mistreated. Or we would be strong enough to tolerate them.

Milgram's experiment were an authority figure in a white coat gets people to give someone a remote electric shock in the next room, shows most people will obey orders to this level; most of the people who refused had themselves been tortured or survivors of consentration camps.

...do we know there was a designer behind that? How about the pineapple? Do we know that was intelligently designed to be hard to eat? What about all the things in the world that suck? Do they also prove intelligent design? Can you say that the platypus was intelligently designed? The sea cow which we hunted to extinction? The dodo that couldn't fly and wasn't even good to eat, but we killed it off anyway?

How do all the poorly designed or bad things in the world factor into the intelligent design argument?

Who believes in this day and age that there really is a separation of Church & State. And being a Christian which do you believe in more? The US Constitution that says they should be separate, or the Religious groups pushing their agendas through politics that think they shouldn't.

Lets say you have 2 guys. The first guy is a mass murderer. He has murdered people, robbed people, and has been an overall bad person. Now lets say in prison he finds God and confesses all his sins. The second guy is an atheist, who has never broken the law, has given thousands of dollars to charity, and respects and shows kindness to everyone around him. Does the first guy have a better chance of getting into heavon because he found God. According to most Christians I have talked to, the answer is yes.

We all knew that when we chose this path, that we were going to called names, made fun, ect.......so why is any Christian surprised that it is taking place. It should be expected. After all look what they did to our Dear Lord Jesus!

Are we not mere reflections of the one light; reflections of the one self; thus reflections of each other?

Thus, when we ask questions -- and even when we conversate with others -- are we not merely speaking to ourself? Gaining knowledge from the one light; the one self; each other... which is nothing more than reflections of ourself?

Are we not -- thru the Mind of all -- always having a dialog with ourself, regardless of our perceptions telling us that there is seperation?

IN GENESIS there are two contradictory stories of creation. In Genesis 1:20 & 21, "every living creature" is brought forth from the waters, including every winged fowl." But in 2:19 God brings forth "every beast of the field and every fowl of the air" from dry ground.
In Genesis 1:2, earth comes into existence on the first day, completely underwater. Only by the 3rd day were waters of the deep collected, and dry land formed. But in Genesis 2:4, 5, & 6, earth on the first day was dry land, unwatered.
The first story has trees made on the 3rd day and man formed 3 days later (1:12-13 and 26-31). In the second version man was made before trees (2:7, 9). If chapter 1 is true, then fowls were created before man. If chapter 2 is true, then they were created after man.
Version one teaches man was created after all beasts. The second is clear, Adam was created before beasts. (1:25,27 versus 2:7,19). If the Bible is Infallible which version is correct and why the need for two stories?

I've asked this question randomly of Christians before. A reasonable percentage of them are familiar with the divine name and do use it to one extent or another in their worship. Some will make an issue about form, i.e., "Yahweh," etc., instead of "Jehovah," but it's not the exclusive domain of the JWs. Many of them think they are the only ones who use it and think that justifies their belief system. So the question here, for the sake of showing them "the truth," is: does your religion ever use the name "Jehovah?"

...that God didn't intelligently design the banana for crocoducks, or proof that God didn't intelligently design the crocoducks for bananas?

Can we call the crocoduck idea "intelligent design"? Or is that a bit insulting to God? If it is intelligent design, does that make Kirk Cameron God?

Discuss.

A true christian loves all people! They witness to the lost about our Jesus. Because we care and don't want no one to go to hell! We never hate. Hate is a sin and it comes from satan. satan is hate! Jesus is Love! A true christian do not judge, hate or force anything on anyone. We witness to the lost. Then we pray for them and leave it in God's hands! The rest is up to the person to accept Jesus or not! Jesus gives us all the free will to accept Him or not! Jesus is the only way to Heaven! With out Jesus in your life. You are lost and there is only death. With Jesus you have everlasting life in Heaven with Him! So a true Christian has love in there hearts and has Jesus in there hearts. They live for Jesus and Worship Him. For Jesus is the only true living God! Jesus Loves and saves! He also forgives us of our sins!

But, why is it whenever there is a disaster , accident or something the people that lived were "spared" by god, but the ones who died was not by his choice, it just happens. I don't get it.

I have always wondered about this and would like someone to explain it to me in a calm adult conversational tone. Although I'm not a Christian I really have nothing against people that believe, I'm just curious.
