Something I heard recently interested me and having never read the bible i'm not sure if this is true, but I heard that in the whole bible there is no mention of heaven just phrases stating things like 'you will be known.'
Is this true?

I keep reading on here from, I assume agnostics and/or atheists, that if they are shown proof, then they will believe in God, too. No, you won't. If we have proof of something, there is nothing left to believe in because there is PROOF. No one has to believe anything that's already proven. I don't know why it irks me so, but it does.

Is it too much to ask? It would really mean a lot.

If Kirk was stuck on an elevator, would God open the doors for him just like he parted the Red Sea for Moses?

Really not believe in evolution in this day and age? I mean seriously, do you have to drop out in like 4th grade to not get taught that and see the obvious examples of evolution?

Theories can be used as facts.

There's the theory of gravity. We don't know how exactly it works, but we don't doubt that it does.
Pythagoras created a theory too. It can't be proved, but it has never failed. a^2+b^2=c^2

So why do people not want the theory of evolution taught just becasue it's a theory?
"because God is real no matter what others believe and evolution is just a theory. plain and simple."

Jews and Romans of that era kept good enough records that we can research them today yet no mention of Pilot having the "king of the jews" crucified. Did you know the gospels about Jesus were written about 40 years after the time he supposedly was crucified? So his apostles must have been very young when they met Jesus and lived a long life to have written the gospels. I'm curious about the lifespan of people at that time. I don't think it was 60+ years old.

I was head of a convention and disaster struck on day two, when over half the attendees at the convention came down with a particularly violent form of food poisoning. It was mayhem. People were vomiting everywhere. Most unpleasant. The convention had to be cancelled while janitors cleaned up. Health officials carried out a number of tests, and traced the outbreak back to the caterer we had brought to the convention. Needless to say, after that little episode, nobody was in the least bit interested in our covention, or in any of our other products for that matter.

I believe in an afterlife (my opinion). But I also think the world is a sad place, mostly because of the potential being wasted. I would love to see people helping people everywhere I look, but alas much of what I see is finger pointing and name calling (on both a personal and international scale; just turn on the news; "Nobody's right if everybody's wrong")

What can we agree on, believers and non-believers, that could make even just your home or workplace a little more cohesive and beautiful today and tomorrow? Why must we concentrate on dividing ourselves? What can we unite around?

are the same?
"Whoever receives this child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me receives Him who sent me;" (Luke 9:48).
Jesus said; "He who believes in me does not believe in me, but in Him who sent me." (John 12:44) "He who hates me hates my Father also. ...but now they have both seen and hated me and my Father as well." (John 15:23-24)
"And this is eternal life, that they may know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent." (John 17:3).
The call of sincerity demands that if believing in the Truth is the honest intention then one could only pass an ethical judgement after reflecting upon all the relevant texts. John 17:3 (quoted above), if read with the following verse clears the air.
Jesus said; "Truly, truly, I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master; neither is the one who is sent greater than the one who sent him." (John 13:16).
Definitely Jesus himself has said many times that God is greater than him, meaning he is not God in Flesh!

That the Catholic Church has the Foundational Truth that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. That you must be born of God, born of His Spirit, cleansed by His blood, joint heirs with King Jesus & part of the family of God; and this is the key given to those who confess Jesus Christ their Lord & Savior and believe in their heart He raised from the dead an everlasting new Temple.

Don't Catholics understand that many different Christian Churches also hold the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven?

Peter isn't the only Priest. Jesus is the High Priest forever after the order of Melchezidek (High Priest & King). Because He is the one who shed His Blood for the remission of our sins.

That many of the "Catholics, through the Pope, only have the Keys..." Is unscriptural and adding to the Gospel Truth?
