I have a lot to be thankful for, but lately I am overwhelmed. I have been praying, but it just seems to get worse and worse. I am so close to giving up. Why is this so hard? I sinned in the past, I'm not perfect now, but I'm trying to do the right thing. I have admitted to my sins and asked for forgiveness, but the aftermath of what I've done is lingering and won't go away. I need a breakthrough. What should I do to get through this?

If not, why didn't one of you invent the "Post Rapture Post" as this atheist did?

Come on, guys, this was your chance to fleece $4.99 per letter from us and you blew it! I think we're going to have to import more creative thinkers from other answer boards ; )

(Just kidding, guys. I thought you'd get a kick out of this story.)

It seems like every day around the same time (like now) most the questions are believer-bashers. A few are funny, but most are just lame. Then most of the answers come from atheists, too, so it's all very self-congratulatory and meaningless.

Does anybody else see this daily trend?

(Matthew 6:5) And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. (KJV)

(Matthew 6:5) When you pray, don't be like those show-offs who love to stand up and pray in the meeting places and on the street corners. They do this just to look good. I can assure you that they already have their reward. (CEV)

When we consider the overwhelming activity of our world, it is difficult to realize that in the cells of our bodies infinitely more complicated processes are at work -- ceaseless manufacture, acquisition of food, storage, communication, and administration......

All this takes place in superb harmony and synchronization, with the cooperation of all participants of a living system, regulated down to the smallest detal!

When will we understand and reach the level of synchronization outwardly in the world, that is found within our own bodies???

I asked this question yesterday, but I did not get many responses. I thought it was a pretty interesting question, so I will ask it again:

“God has a reason for everything.” This is a phrase that we hear a lot from Christians.

A few months ago, in the City I live in, three small children died when the home they were living in burned down. On the news, you could see the mother of the children outside fighting to get past the firemen so that she could get in to save her babies. The firemen had to keep her back because they knew that if she went in she would die too. The autopsy report showed that the children died from burns.

Don’t get me wrong, I do not think that any God did this. But if you are going to say that “God does everything for a reason” in any situation, you are automatically saying that God did that to those children and their mother. So tell me what reason could he possibly have for that? Try not to use any clichés like “God works in mysterious ways.” So, maybe some things do just happen by chance… If so, I wonder how God decides when he will intervene and when he will leave things to chance. I mean, he seems to help a lot of people with their finances, landing a job, history exams, etc. What about burning children?

An Italian Catholic priest around 700 a.d. was doubting the real, literal presence of Christ in the consecrated host and wine. So during mass, after consecrating the host, it turned into a REAL piece of flesh and the wine into real blood. The flesh and the blood (which has coagulated and split into five globules) have been studied by scientists and they've determined that it is real human blood, and the flesh is a piece of a real human heart. They've found no traces of chemicals/preservatives. They can't explain how the flesh and blood have been preserved for 1200 years!!

Recently I read at
www.jesus-is-lord.com/charlot1.htm
the testemony of Sister Charlotte about the atrocities she suffered in the Convent. I was deeply shocked upon reading it and took some interest in the case. Later I checked the site:
www.angelfire.com/ms/seanie/forgeries/charlottewells.html
where that testemony is said to be false. I have to agree that it sounds strange that she never mentioned the name of the place where it happened and also upon hearing the recorded tape I thought her mood is simply too dry while narrating, as I would expect a person who really suffered all that to break in tear even while remembering it. Moreover, it seems that everything relies on her words, for no proof or witness ever appeared. What do you think? Is it a true account or just sensationalist anti-catholic propaganda?

Why is it that the atheists can ask inane questions like

If I put holy water in my hydrogen car, will I be a holy roller?

or

If Jesus was his own father, that means he had his own mother?

And we are thumbed down and ridiculed for rebuking you. And you all wonder why we answered a question meant for atheists.

But when a Christian asks an inane question like this

You are still critical and abusive. Are you just like that all the time? Are any of you EVER nice to anyone? Is it possible to have a genuine discussion without you guys making hateful commentary and snide remarks?

I'm not talking about Evolutionists here, but Christians who accept Jesus, but have a false understanding of Genesis and think that the world was not created in 6 literal 24-hour days 6000 years ago.

Will God forgive them for believing in a perversion of his word, so long as they still believe that Jesus died for their sins?
