It is the age old story, Jesus was hated by many people, and if people hated Jesus they will hate his followers as well.

Matthew 5:11-12Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Edit-
Allot of people say they are hating on him because Kirk was stupid. Let's for one moment say he was being stupid, stupidity is not a good reason to hate anyone.

Even the smartest person in the world can make a mistake
if you start hating people the moment they say something stupid you will end up hating everyone before long.

Kirk Cameron has my blessings for even attempting that show and I think they both did a very good job. They both knew that standing up for God is never wrong. Science proves very little. And for many thousands of years the Bible has stated that God said, "I am TRUTH."

Truth of God is in the eye of the beholder. So I wish for the 2 atheists on the program that God strikes them blind on the road to Damascus. That's not being mean, that is just stating what God did to Apostle Paul on that same road that they are on.

Pastor Billy says: because he is standing up for what he believes in. Some people are crapp'in on him because he seeks what is good, others because his theological arguments are weak. I personally think he should stick to acting and preferably not in anymore of the Left Behind fictonal stories. He could be reading this right now and I dearly hope he is as I see him as someone who has experienced an emotional moment and has shaped all his perception around it yet neglects what is authentic Christianity. This rapture fantasy he works on is a doctrine less than 200 years old and believed by less than 1% of the world's Christians.

He honestly merits his top to have faith as he likes, as does each and anyone human beings. His selection of religion would not make him exempt from scrutiny or grievance of those ideals, and in Kirk's case, his declare that the banana is easy evidence of God. truthfully, i would not have a difficulty in spite of that, had he not renamed the banana "The Atheist's Nightmare". in case you throw down a undertaking, you may not not anticipate for that undertaking to be met.

Because he's not too bright. He went on National television claiming the ability to argue a point in a certain way and then totally crumbled about 5 minutes in.

The bible contradicts itself. Anyone who partakes in self-contradictory behavior is subject to criticism.

Kirk Cameron has made a public display of arguments for the existence of God that are based solely on logical fallacies. By doing this, he has opened himself up to public ridicule. Cause and effect.

I have often wondered the same thing myself. Maybe it is because people are afraid of his knowledge and understanding of what they do not know. Perhaps it is just jealousy of Kirk knowing who he really is and other people are mad because that is a hard thing for most people to do; find themselves.

JESUS said" "...the world hates me, they will also hate you". This includes Kirk, you you, and me.
Read James 1:2-12 "Consider it pure joy..."
