God has forgiven you. All you had to do to receive that was ask.
Now - have you forgiven yourself? Don't try to be holier than God. The reason you need God is precisely because you are weak, and you cannot do it alone.
The other thing to remember is that God is not a vending machine. Simply because you are trying to live well, that is not a guarantee that things will go well. It's not a case of put in so many prayers, pull a handle and things will get better. It's not that good things happen but what you do with whatever happens, good or bad.
The only sin God can't forgive is giving up - because you stop asking for help.
God is on your side - you will come through.

Keep praying and remember if your sins deserve death then, right now what you are going through is nothing and deserved anyway. Also remember that you are an enemy of the world and it will try at every turn along with the ancient serpent to bring you down. Take comfort in the fact that no matter what --Jesus is with you and suffering can be redemptive if it is offered up to the Almighty Father through your unification with his son Jesus. No one said it would be easy. Don't give up though. This is why St. Paul talks about winning the fight and the race. It is a competition of sorts between good and evil. Relax and give it to Jesus, no matter what happens to you materially, -- you win through our Lord.
A good prayer in addition: St. Michael, The Archangel, defend us in this day of battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil, and do thou oh prince of the Heavenly Hosts, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen (Very powerful)

If you're referring to the consequences of your sins as 'the aftermath' , I'm afraid you may have to live with it , depending on how serious the problem is
For instance, if someone gets drunk and drives a car and kills an innocent victim in an accident, that person may ask God for forgiveness and be forgiven but he/she will have to bear the consequences of going to court or jail and also the guilt for a long time.

Dear Wendy,
I do not know if you realise this but we are right on the threshold of eternity. I am talking about the end of the world and the second advent of Jesus! Please read Psalm 73.
Then please Google my sources. FamilyRadio is a christian organization dedicated to getting the True Gospel of Jesus Christ into the entire world. I do not know where you live, but there should be a FamilyRadio station near you. If not, you can listen to FamilyRadio over the internet. They have a call-in radio program called the Open Forum. People call in with there question and the host will answer it from the Bible. If you do not feel comfortable calling in, you can just listen and get alot of information.
I hope this will encourage you.

Let go of your past. Forgive yourself for any wrong you think you might have done. If you have hurt others and have the opportunity to make it up to them, do so. If not, move on from it, and resolve to do better in the future.
Understand that bad things happen to everyone - sometimes these things seem to snowball - but it's not punishment for past "sins." It is life happening. It's not good or bad, fair or unfair, it just is.
Don't give up. Seek counseling or find good friend to talk with. It can get better. Trust me, people find their way out of rough times every day.

It is just your conscience that is messing with you. Every time you get that thought in your head, think of something GOOD that you have done and what you can do to better yourself for the future. Also, if you are a strong believer, just keep praying because eventually if you have enough faith, it will come through. Talk to some friends, talk directly with God (or whatever you believe in), family, anybody that is there to help you. The good thing is that you have admitted your sins to yourself and to God and that is a step in the right direction.

I know you won't listen to this, but here goes. "Sin" is not real. You are not being "punished." Sometimes, life just sucks.
This is NOT to say that morality is unimportant, that you should give up on yourself, that even guilt can't be healthy occasionally as a motivator to do better. But the "Christian" idea that your misfortunes are evidence of the wrath of a vengeful God is simply morbid neurosis.
I sympathize with your situation, whatever it is, and I hope you find a way through it.

Hi my friend in times I believe everyone feels like this, but your are in the right path and God is a God of justice and is always with you.
Don't stop praying, but do know one thing
James 4:3 tells us "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts."
The Bible also tells us that faith without works is death
There are three steps you must follow in order for God to take control of your situation and help you resolve it.
one you must pray (the right way).
A - ask for forgiveness - which you have done so that's very good
B - pray for other peoples needs - don't be selfish and think of only your self
C- put it in God's hands - tell God how you feel and what the problem is. Tell him to guide you and help you make all the dicision and for Him to open doors of blessing in your life.
D - thank Him - give him thanks for your life, your family - for everything
E - give him praise -
Two you must Belief - belief that God is in control - don't let the devil tell you you're alone, repeuk satan and keep your mind focus in God. forget about the situations and give God praise in everything.
Three you must follow God's word - live your life the way God wants you to live and get more involfe with your church.
remember we don't receive for we ask wrong
faith without acktions is death: meaning that real faith is shown by the things you do (don't let your problems get to you for now God is the one that needs to worry about them).
And always keep this in mind; God says in his Word:
John 15:7
"If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you."
I know God will help you. don't give up for the victory is soon to come.
God Bless

Everyone makes mistakes, and God does forgive you if you are truly sorry. Maybe what YOU need is to make restitution, go back to anyone you may have hurt and apologize to them in person or a phone call or a letter.
