Actually, I would like to argue that it is constantly being recreated, and that our own conscious minds are the creators. What we perceive is what is, not the other way around.

When I was back in philosophy school (University of Michigan, class of 1974), we played with the question of whether it is possible to prove that the world is ancient, and not that it was created last Thursday, complete with false memories and fake anthropology, geologic strata and all. In some sense, this is an essential conundrum, because believing that it is faked implies belief in an intelligence sufficiently superior to be able to pull off such a fake, and sufficiently sinister to have a reason for doing so.

Personally, I would not have any interest in worshiping such a God, so I do not postulate such a one. If it is not the case that God is Love [and/or that Love is God], at least we are all better off for believing that it is so.

Creation of the universe is not yet comletely manifested. God visualized all of creation, then released the vision to begin manifesting millions of years ago, the process of creation is still unfolding. Some call this process "evolution".
