I can easily speak/write/read Persian, so basically i can also read Arabic, but i can't understand the words(Arabic words).

so is it better if i read the Qur'an in Arabic and do not understand what it says or should i read it in Persian and understand every word??

*there's this thing that you will get rewarded if you read the quran(with your heart), but is it only in Arabic??*

Thanks!!

My x-husband and I recently decided to try to get back together after being apart for 7 years. He suffers from bi-polar. After many long conversations he assured me that he was fine with the decsion to try to work things out and put our family back together again. I am to move to where he lives next week. He called me Monday and said he was spiraling and does not want to get back together. He is going to get help and I hope back on meds. I do love him, but am I being punished or tested for not staying with him the first time we married through sickness?

"Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, "Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin your task right here at the Temple." So they began by killing the seventy leaders. "Defile the Temple!" the LORD commanded. "Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! Go!" So they went throughout the city and did as they were told." (Ezekiel 9:5-7)

Anyone still think the Lord loves everyone? He is ordering merciless killing of children.......

I think this is pretty clear cut before anyone says it is taken out of context or has been misinterpretted

And if you think it is wrong then can you be sure that the rest of the Bible is right?

Just wondering.

As a devout Christian, which misconceptions about your religion would you want to clarify? I am sure almost everyone is annoyed by one thing or the other that other people take for granted but do not realize that it is fabricated.
It must pain you when people comment on religion as if they have spent their lives studying it but all they know is the popular belief that "it is all fiction".
Brief, intelligent answers would be welcome.
Cheers & God bless.

I asked a legitimate question, requested that answerers not attempt to convert me, received answers that were attempts to convert me (in my eyes, anyway), so I made an additional comment about those responses (wasn't rude) . . . and some jerk reported me. My question was removed.

I am vehemently opposed to reporting because of ridiculous stuff like this. My question was about love (Do you think that falling in love can make you believe in god?)

I resolved it a few days ago. Thought it was over and done with. Apparently, someone didn't like that I didn't choose their presumptive, Bible-quote filled answer.

And some of the Christians on here wonder why us non-believers get angry with them.

I'm better now. Got that out of my system.

Have you ever seriously studied another religion apart from your own?
Has it fostered [or augmented your existing tolerance] tolerance in you towards other religions?
Do you think it is a meaningful and constructive path towards tolerance?
I am a Muslim and have been reading & studying the Quran and both the Testaments since I was 13 [I am 27 years old].
Honest & serious answers are welcome. God bless you all.

For example:

1. Changed your religion

2. Changed your mind regarding how man came to exist

3. Changed your opinion on school vouchers

4. Changed who you were going to vote for

5. Bought a domestic vehicle instead of a foreign made

Have you ever decided to do more independent research on a provocative subject after having read answers?

Thanks.

If so you must remain Holy in His sight. Look at the Israelites, when they were close to God and doing His will, they were blessed with abundance so much so at times they could barely handle it all. When they did not look to God for their decisions and provisions but they did as they please, that is when judgment was brought upon them, when they fell into captivity.
In America, we started out seeking God and wanting to do His will. We have been blessed beyond all other nations. Through the years we have drifted far from our humble beginnings and turned our backs on God. What condition are we in now? Our economy is collapsing, our schools are a shambles, our once great milatary is only a shadow of itself, other nations are far more technologically advanced then us, etc..
We must return to a lifestyle in America that is pleasing to God (Holy) or we are soon to face judgment.
How is your life? Are you living your life as Holy before the Lord, seaking to please God not man??

Would the kids be born without original sin?

Therefor if they lived an all around good life they wouldn't have to beg for forgiveness?

And if those kids grew up and had married offspring from adam and eve after they ate the apple would their kids have half original sin?

First off, I discourage abortion and think it should be an option of last resort and only made with very serious consideration.

Many people arguing against abortion do so on a religious contention that the soul is formed at conception or sometime soon thereafter. FOR THE SAKE OF THIS ARGUMENT WE WILL ASSUME THIS TO BE TRUE.

Terminating a pregnancy would release the soul from the embryo which surly god wouldn't deny entrance into heaven. Even taking the original sin concept literally, it would not apply in this case as man is BORN with original sin and no birth occurred here. This soul would in essence be a purly innocent angel.

If I were a religious person I wouldn't see this as all that bad of a situation. In fact it almost seems preferable to living a physical life of potential pain and suffering. Wouldn't the religious argument against abortion be much stronger if they claimed the soul was joined to the body at birth?

They moved in about six months ago and have no family ties in our state. The girl is nice enough and friends with my daughter, but I feel that they have taken advantage of me too often with isues like babysitting. Since they have no family here they have asked me to watch the kids after school for about 30 minutes a day. Sometimes we've taken another child to sports practice and games since the parents were working. Anyway, They've asked me to be a godmother and I don't know if I should. I'm really not catholic and I don't want to feel obligated to do things because she is my god daughter. What should I do?
