If they were really Jesus' disciples, why isn’t the ascension of Jesus (pbuh) to heaven mentioned in Matthew and John?
It was such an important event to Christians and why did they never mention about that in their Gospels?

A Logical question needs a Logical reply and the Only Logical and Resonable Reply would be that the "so called" Gospel Writers John and Matthew were not Jesus' disciples. The disciples were different people !

Today seems quite out of hand. I mean, I don't believe the same thing, but I think we're all letting the crazy whack-job minority stir up so much ire that we're bashing the whole populace, most of whom are actually quite sane and pleasant and intelligent. My parents are Christians and they volunteer at a soup kitchen, donate to charities, don't condemn non-Christians to hell, respect people's rights to live secularly, and accept evolution. I think they represent far more Christians than lunatics like Ted Haggard, Fred Phelps and Jerry Falwell.

It would be called something like:

Imflammatory and Hate

or

Trolls and Goobers

and let them types go at it off in their own corner somewhere else so the rest of us can actually ask and answer questions that have real meaning to them.

I don't see how to pick it from my categories section. It doesn't seem to be listed. Or is it just simply a sub-category of Society & Culture? And I need to weed my way through all those questions?

Here are the verses:

23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man's eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, "Do you see anything?" 24 He looked up and said, "I see people; they look like trees walking around." 25 Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.

When taken at face value, it would appear as though Jesus had to try twice to heal this man. When God heals....he heals completely and without error....we know this.
There are some things that need to be left up to mystery with scripture......God has not revealed everything to us and is under no obligation to do so.

But what are your general thoughts about these verses? The footnotes are no help here and neither is the Greek. I do not deny the power of Almighty God in any way....I'm just curious.

1) Supposedly there is a god that wants you to GROVEL and SNIVEL before it.

2) However because of original sin humans are not worthy to GROVEL and SNIVEL to this god. Therefore if things remain unchanged god will TORTURE you forever. (So much for the groveling and sniveling.)

3) In order to fix this problem god decided to TORTURE his son for a few hours by arranging to have him killed by crucifixion and then bring him back as a ZOMBIE.

4) Since god has had his BLOODLUST sated he is now willing to not torture you forever provided you recognize that Jesus was tortured in your place. So you can actually spend all eternity bowed down GROVELING before this supposed god.

Lucky you!

I'm questioning my religious beliefs lately. I don't think that I believe in Satan. I think that the evils of man are nothing but the choices we make as humans. I realize God gave us free will, so if we want to do evil, wrong things, why do we need someone around to tempt us? I think that's just a copout.

How can water be all three forms of existance at one and the same time ?

If not, then this example only proves the trinity to be polytheism.

Joh 3:17 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Joh 3:18 "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Joh 3:19 "And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Joh 3:20 "For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
Joh 3:21 "But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God."

It seems the most natural disasters occur in the bible belt. 90% of the hurricanes hit there, and most of the tornadoes as well. I know it is because of geographic location, but is god mad at the conservative Christians? Or is the popularity of conservative Christianity a by-product of the frequent occurrence of natural disasters?

Atheists and theists are different only in degree, not kind. They both resort to fictional unicorns as a means of meditation. Theists resort to prayer, et al, and atheists to Spiderman 3, Bon Jovi, Evanescence, et al. Granted, theists place greater reliance on their unicorn.. only a difference in degree...

Only logical comments please.

Here are some very different views in your Bible:

1.) The following say to kill us:

If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you ... Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die. -- Deuteronomy 13:6-10

2.) Shun us:
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord. -- 2 Corinthians 6:14-17

3.) Love, and be kind to us:
Leviticus 19:18, Matthew 22:39, Mark 12:31, Luke 10:27, Romans 13:9-10, Galatians 5:14, James 2:8
