I asked a legitimate question, requested that answerers not attempt to convert me, received answers that were attempts to convert me (in my eyes, anyway), so I made an additional comment about those responses (wasn't rude) . . . and some jerk reported me. My question was removed.

I am vehemently opposed to reporting because of ridiculous stuff like this. My question was about love (Do you think that falling in love can make you believe in god?)

I resolved it a few days ago. Thought it was over and done with. Apparently, someone didn't like that I didn't choose their presumptive, Bible-quote filled answer.

And some of the Christians on here wonder why us non-believers get angry with them.

I'm better now. Got that out of my system.

Orion: Every single violation notice e-mail I've received from Yahoo, I've responded to asking for explanations.

I've received nothing but automated responses back.

TTC: Possible, yes. Likely, no. There were only about two who didn't answer the question without obvious references to being Christian. I chose one for best answer.

If ranting about stupidity makes me a baby, so be it. :)

I was reported last week with a violation notice. My answer was not insulting and did not put down anyone's beliefs. I gave a well thought out answer, not judgmental, brief and to the point that was a direct answer to a question which was not out of line either. I am still waiting for the yahoo investigation team to give me an answer.... I won't hold my breath.

I didn't see your initial question but if it was word for word (Do you think that falling in love can make you believe in god?) I would have never reported you for those exact words.

My husband is a non-believer, and I am a Christian so my answer would have to be no.

The only time I have reported people on yahoo is when someone had a link that was supposed to have info on a family friendly subject, but instead it was a XXX photo.
The other time I reported someone they were talking about wanting to physically hurt gay people.

If I reported every verbally offensive person on Yahoo, I would never have time to post.

If you ask a spiritually related question, why do you dislike spiritually responsive answers?

It would be the same to me if a Buddhist responds by what they discovered in meditation. It is merely how a person finds their beliefs.

And no, I never report anyone anymore. I used to report non-sense and disrespectful questions, but now I would be reporting so many that I do not even try.

I absolutely would not report for disagreeing with me.

I got a question removed MONTHS after it was resolved. I asked why, as a non-Christian, I had not been snared in the "cult" of lesbianism, since they supposedly have this big recruitment agenda. No one objected when I asked it, I picked a best answer, and forgot about it... then a few months later I got a violation notice. wtf? I just hope they didn't take the 10 points from the person!

Yes, that's bad. But it's also unnerving when someone posts a question presumably for the purpose of getting answers, and then reporting you for your answer. I wasn't rude or offensive. I merely made some astute comments based on my well informed opinion of the subject matter, and my reward was getting reported. This was in reference to muslims. From now on, any question I answer relating to muslims or how they are perceived in the world, I'm going to slam them as hard as is possible with rudeness, offensiveness, and a total lack of care about their feelings or beliefs.

Cowards.

I have had some real nasty responses to my questions. Just let them go. I would never report someone due to a disagreement regarding their answer. This is for people to place their answers and questions and you must be open to ignorant people too. The world is full of them.

Hope you are doing better and back in the game.

You can't know for sure which person reported you unless they say so in their answer. So don't go assuming that a person with Biblical verses was the one that reported you. I see nothing with your question. And I say that finding the love of your life could make you believe that God exists, that He sent that person into your life. A possibility. I only report people who blaspheme, uses foul language, or threatens death. I've learned that you can't take much here too seriously. Lots of rude and immature people here.

The only people I've reported are ones who post offensive language, filled with hate against Christ or against Christians. I've also reported ones who have accused God of child molestation and the like. These are not real questions from people looking to learn or be informed...these are posts meant to hurt or offend.

I do not report silly questions, of which there are many and I certainly never report anyone with an honest question but whose beliefs differ from mine. They have every right to post questions.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you want to be able to state yours you have to respect others rights even if you don't agree with them. The problem sounds like the criteria for deleting a question. Is that automated? Don't take it personally, just let it bounce off and move on.

If I reported people just because I disagree with them, my finger would never be off the report button! I report only for violations stated in the community guidelines/terms of service.
