I think that most of the people posting here have had no personal experience with an Islamic culture. I visited Egypt for two weeks and found the people there to be very good, moral people. They are devoted to their religion, but, unlike most people think, they are not fanatics. The people of Egypt at least were very friendly. In any predominantly Islamic nation, the population gets its values from Islam.

I think that Islam is a very good religion - it teaches tolerance, piety, morals, manners, friendliness, and many, many other good attributes. It is sad that so many people only see Islam as a bunch of radical fanatics - the few radicals have ruined it for the whole religion, and I don't think that's right. Just because a few people take the Quran extremely seriously (similar to some over-zealous Christians or people from any other religion that are fanatics) doesn't mean that everyone is bad or evil.

My concept of Islam is that it's a religion no better or worse than any other religion, which in my opinion are all equally silly for investing so much time, energy and belief in something that isn't there.

Islam is seen as violent, unfair, backward, etc. not because it's Islam but because the people practicing it are one step up from cave men. It's a cultural issue, not one that is tied to a particular set of beliefs.

I am convinced that if Afghanistan were Christian that there would still be barbaric things being done--but in the name of Jesus rather than Allah.

In the same vein, I am positive that if the extreme fundamentalist Christians had their way they would interpret the Old Testament literally and would stone people to death as well.

There are plenty of educated Muslims who oppose the violence perpetrated in the name of Islam. The enemy here isn't one religion in particular. The enemy here is ignorance. In my opinion religion is a form of ignorance, but one can be an educated, religious and peaceful person too. There's no harm done there.

So don't degrade Islam. Degrade the ignorant morons.

I find Islam as one of the most misunderstood concepts by people living today , there are even Muslims who do not understand the reality of Islam.

Islam is the last Revelation from God, it calls for monotheism, peace and complete submission to God.

It cares and gives big weight to moral and ethics , that the prophet of Islam promises those who are good with people "ethically" will be the closest to him in heavens.

Know many people who are reading this did not even know about it before that....

My perception is that Islam is still struggling to find itself. It is going through a period where it's followers are too strictly applying it's dogma. The same thing happened with Christianity and this brought about the crusades. There are two ways in which it can be stopped; beaten back in war, or a rise up of the more tolerant believers against the oppressors. Hopefully, the second option will occur before the world is forced to put the mullahs in their place. It would be a very one sided war, and there will be a lot of innocent lives lost as a result. The true Muslims need to rise up against the teaching of the radical mullahs before they get themselves into a situation that they can't survive.

well informerdude and others, i must say i dont blame you for thinking as such.because those things really happened.but to generalize it as islam totally unfair. none of those came from the teachings of islam. it resulted from misinterpretation of the teachings of islam.many muslims are misguided, doing things they thought would make them better muslims. God promised that such insanity, chaos and violence will happen towards the end of time, and it already did. so, this is a test for true muslims whether to sway from islam when islam looks so bad in poeple's eye or maintain their faith in islam as the true religion that promote peace in life and hereafter. the latter will find a place in heaven. if you, informerdude and others are here for the truth, i suggest that you seek further about islam. you'll find what you're looking for. but if you're here just for the sake of ridicule, i wont take your comments seriously and may God bless you

Its not my concept, this is an old concept of following God by the means of a Prophet.

Following a chain of transmission that goes back to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

The classical definition.

Islam concept generally is obey His order and leave what He forbids. This has stated in the Holy Quran for about 1400 years ago. Even Adam knew about this.

Islam also stress fraternity among human being. Islam is a peace religion. It holds all aspects of life etc : mariage, financial, behaviour, civilization,

We believe there is only one God that is Allah and Prophet Muhammad is the one who carries His orders. We dont need many gods to manage the universe. We have Allah The Almighty. He creates human to preserve the Earth. He creates planets, trees, animals, soil, water and many more so human can live with it to study His power.

He is testing our faith to Him in this fantasy world so he creates heaven and hell for human and other creature during world end's day for judgement. He sent Muhammad to deliver His messeges so human being would not live in ignorance. He has sent Adam and many more prophets to civilize the creature called human. So we have to obey His orders and leave what He forbids.

I explain it very briefly and i hope you understand it.
