This conversation just happend. I told my Mom that I had told someone who went through a miscarriage (and cried on my shoulder about it), "Well, I will pray for you (keep you in my prayers)." Later, this person said, "No, don't."
Anyway, my mother said, "I hate it when people say they will pray for me. I think it's weird. I mean, who do you think you are? Superior to everyone else? Just because you go to church?" I said, " Ok, then, I think that mentality is weird. After all, I am just saying that I am thinking of you, but in a different way. But I'll ask someone what they think about that."
She finished off with, "Oh, one of your 'weirdo' people friends."
So weirdos, what do you think?

So if someone wanted a well-rounded knowledge of science, but then only read one physics book, you would say that they should read multiple science books in different fields of science, am I right?

So like wise, if you are really interested in religion and spirituality, you probably should read more than just the bible, am I right?

Boethius, Consolation of Philosophy,
Upanishads
Autobiography of a yogi
Baghavad Gita
Plotinus

I am a Christian, but I am very tolerant of other religions and people just as Jesus taught. Many people get too wrapped up in what the southern baptists and religious right do when many are not walking the path. Many say they are christians to gain a good political advantage. I just want to know how a person could not look around and see how beatiful everything is and how much potential the human race has and still believe there is nothing out there?

I always here rumors that their were chapters left out of the bible does anyone know if that is true. Also did the phrophets number the chapters and verses or was that down when being translated. Last but least why was it translated from Greek and not Hebrew if those people were Hebrew? If there are Hebrew translations where are they?

Is it wrong for me to choose not to have children yet adopt children and bring them up as my own with love in a happy family? I mean being married of course! That would mean either tieing up my tubes etc... Frankly speaking I do not wish to have children of my own not that I don't love children.

At the end of it I believe children are God's gift but at the same time there are so many abandoned children who lack love. And certainly I want to adopt as many children that both my future husband and I can support financially. At the end of it, the children should feel loved and yet not materialistically compromised. I want to love them as how Jesus taught me to love others.

Mother Theresa once said that the greated sickness/disease in the world is to feel unloved. So do you think what am doing is unjustified?

Or sphere shaped? I've seen numerous places that refer to "the ends of the Earth" or "4 corners of the Earth." Perhaps someone knows of translation issues that might go along with thhis as well.

Why didn't he give them souls?

Why did he create a sentient being without a purpose

Why did he grant them the ability to feel pain if all they're supposed to do is serve us?

Why did got kill almost all land animals in the flood when they hadn't done anything

Why does god hate animals?

Why not give an option for a T-shirt for my avatar with a conservative cause like Pro-Life?

Or why not let me choose a T-shirt for my avatar with a religious them like one that says, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you."? (Jeremiah 1: 5)

I just ran a google check on something called Asatru and it turns out in this country one of it's founders is the self-described neo-nazi fascist intellectual Michael Moynihan, who edits a Asatru journal called RUNES. It's basically a follow-up to Heinrich Himmler's attempts to revive the the ancient Germanic myths as a substitute religion for "Jewish-influenced" Christianity. This is no harmless little minority religion like the Bahai Faith or the Jorhei Fellowship. These people mean business. This so-called Norse Heathenism is openly led by people who regard Adolf Hitler as a mystical figure. Normally I go out of my way to be tolerant of small religions - even if they do seem strange - but this is more political than religious, and obviously incorporates some truly vile traditions. Look up this Moynihan and see what you think. Personally,I think all this asatru stuff belongs in sociology not religion - if it belongs anywhere.

I watched 'The Ten Commandments' the other night. I couldn't
help thinking that Moses sure went through a lot of work. If I
was him I would have simply banged my staff a couple of times on the floor and all the Egyption males' testicles would suddenly become the size of watermelons. Think of it. They would be in pain. Wouldn't be able to walk much less ride a chariot and a horse would certainly be out of the question. What could they do to stop me from simply walking out with my people?
Would this have worked?

I always see in here "that person wasn't a christian" It seems like everyone is a claiming to be a christian but yet they speak with lies and hate speech. Or you toss them off as trolls just because they said something mean. why can't they admit they're mean? no one agrees on what makes a christian a christian. how can you tell?
