When my kids were young I did not trust anyone around them without really checking them out!Their friends and their friend's families were included. I was too cautious and did not allow my children around anyone who I did not have my eye on a while! I would not let anyone influence my children in a way that was contrary to how they were being raised. I wanted my children influenced by me! So I even monitored what programs they could watch! It was hard to get around my kids to influence them because we were a close family and did most everything together. They wanted to know about the Lord. It came naturally for them. I was pleased they were that way. (Still are that way) Once there was a teacher teaching my kids stuff I did not want them to hear and I took it up with the school board! I always checked to see what the youth minister was telling my children in church. When they were old enough, they decided what church they wanted to go to. Till then, they went with me. If my children had an atheist teacher, I did not know it. We lived in the Bible belt and it would not have been a good idea on the teacher's part to make his atheism known. I would not take to someone trying to undermine my religious instructions at home!

Does the male youth minister look like Michael Jackson?

Neither but If I had to choose I would choose the male youth minister over the atheist in a heartbeat.

I would have to know the person beyond their occupation, sex, and beliefs. But if I had to pick right now male youth minister, all day! I'm not big on an atheist anything being around my kids!

Regardless of the minister's gender, I would trust the atheist more.

I don't believe I would trust either one completely. Sadly, that's what our world is coming to. Regardless of their position, in this day and age, you can never really know what's going on in a person's mind. Morality has become subjective....each person goes around making up their own version of right and wrong, and many don't have a problem lying in order to get what they want.

The minister by a longshot. The atheist would tell them Santa isn't real! That would make them cry and the atheist wouldn't care because his ego is satisfied.

athiest teacher.
A youth minister is already biased towards his faith and will attempt (consciously or subconsciously) to embed little tidbits of his faith into my kids. An athiest, on the other hand, might attempt to tell my kids there is no God. In this case my children would no doubt having the athiest questioning himself before the day was through. :)

It would depend on other factors. Religion has no bearing on what decision I would make.
