I am a Seventh Day Adventist. In my religion classes, it seems we spend most of our time studying other religions...Why do so many people insist on worshiping on Sundays? NO WHERE in the bible does it say that we should worship on Sundays. Constantine said, " wait a minute, I think I'll change the day of worship to Sunday", and everyone followed. Why do so many people base their religion on tradition? I have no offense toward catholics or anything, I actually like some of their morals and values than ours...I observed mass in LA a few weeks ago and I noticed that they accept everyone into the church, no matter who they are, like homeless people. I admire that. But the things I dont agree with is that they build their religion upon tradition, like purgatory. NO WHERE in the bible does it say their is purgatory. LIke a bishop would tie their hat to the roof of the church and would stay in purgatory when they die until the string breaks. Thats just stupid. I don't understand it.

It stands to reason that anyone claiming to be god himself, in the flesh would be considered a charlatan and blasphemer by any religion.

I have found that many and most christians and specialliy jehova witness followers push their religion on people in the worst ways. First they try to explain their point of view and explaining that whatever you believe is tottaly wrong and even offensive in the eyes of God. They attack your religion and dont even try to respect your believes because they see them deprorable. I think that people have opinions and they should all be respected not critized. And this goes for Athiest too. Why critize them and feel sorry for them? Its their choice and power to them! Im catholic my self and im also an open person. So why do they critize?

If we pray and expect God to remove our difficulties and if God does that.. Is he not being partial towards one who prays??
Assume two people face the same illness and one prays and is cured while the other is not. Is it not God being favorable to the one cured? Does that mean God need not be impartial and can be favorable to people who praise him?

The fossils of some of these giant reptiles are proof they existed. They can't be denied their place in the planets history. I have never heard of anyone trying to explain this matter. Anyone have an educated guess or explaination?
By all means educate me.

Christians don't know how to pray.
They only pray for what they want or they ask others to do the praying......MUCH LIKE CHRISTMAS TIME. TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT FOR CHRISTMAS? I WANT THIS AND THAT BUT IT HAS TO BE RED...
I got so sick of people using prayer for money, husbands, job promotions, someone is sick or dying pray for them..............I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A CHRISTIAN NOT ASK FOR SOMETHING!
ALL THEY DO IS ASK FOR THINGS TO BE BETTER. DID THE SERENITY PRAYER FLY OUT THE DOOR?

CAN'T CHRISTIANS ACCEPT THE THINGS THEY CAN'T CHANGE LIKE MUSLIMS, BUDDHIST, HINDU'S AND EVERYBODY ELSE? CHRISTIANS ARE SUCH BABIES.

There are things far worse happening in the world that deserve prayers over "please help my husband get a better job so we can pay all our bills?" These things are PETTY!

JUST SAY THANKS GOD! I HAVE SHELTER, FOOD, WATER! THANKS GOD!

CAN CHRISTIANS LEARN TO PRAY FOR WHAT REALLY MATTERS?

According to theists, god created humans specifically so he could exist within humans / amongst humans / love humans, be worshiped by humans, whatever

But without humans, he can't do these things. So you believers have it within your power to foil his plans by ending his little experiment.

I call on all believers to test my theory, perhaps even prove me wrong!

As an (evil) atheist, I will sit by and record the data.

(I will grant you, I tend to ask some very sarcastic questions from time to time, but take this one to heart cause I've gotta settle my curiosity on this one...)

I know that a lot of Christian sects place a high level of importance on spreading the "gospel" and winning souls to Christ, but have you ever met someone who, even after being saved, just never seemed to really flourish spiritually in the church no matter how hard they tried? Someone who read the bible, tried like hell to be a good Christian and still just didn't seem to benefit from it in any way? Someone who simply wasn't cut out to be a Christian and in fact seemed to fair worse after their conversion (as in becoming depressed or suicidal)?

okay so you say God is in the Holy Trinity, the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Ghost (Spirit), my teacher (who is catholic) told me that all three are equal because in reality they are all ONE but in three different forms and whatnot, but i was wondering how can they be equal when the Holy Bible clearly shows that "the Father" is in "controll" of Jesus and has an higher status, for example:

Colossians 1:3
We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

This is saying that Jesus is "praying" to the Father, "Jesus Christ, praying always for you," so im wondering if God is in three but in reality God is One that means they are all of equal power, but here it shows Jesus "praying" to the Father which means the Father can do what Jesus cannot, which means that Jesus and the father are not equal in power.

PLEASE TELL ME IF I AM MISUNDERSTANDING SOMETHING, I DONT MEAN TO OFFEND ANYBODY!! IM JUST WONDERING

A morbid question I know... Who would think that it was anything but offensive to remember a murder victim by a replica of the instrument of his death- but is that not what wearing a cross is?

I have read many answers where people are complaining about the Mormon believe that they can become Gods some day.
In the Bible Jesus says to be like Him.
I don't mean that we would become more powerful than God. God would still be our God but we could be like Him and be "lesser" Gods.
Our father want us to become fathers. We don't become our father's father. He is still our father.
God does have the power to have us become Gods if He wanted to doesn't He?

Most religious people describe God as perfect, all-powerful, and all-knowing. My position is that God, by this definition, does not exist. My reasons are as follows:

First, God alledgedly created the Earth. However, this world is obviously not perfect; and perfection is incapable of imperfection.

Second, God knew and knows everything that would and will happen; and even though he has unlimited power, he allowed millions of us to be exterminated and enslaved, he allowed children to be raped and murdered, and he continues to allow worse things to occur even today.

Even though God gave man freewill, by the common definition of God, he knew that everything that has happened would happen and with all of his great power, he did nothing to interfere. So, either God did all of this on purpose or he made a mistake.

Therefore, people who believe in God should except everything the way God made it, or they should conclude that he did make us in his image and he is not perfect either.

Hmmm??
