They thumbs down anyone who doesn't agree, that's all. You can be 100% correct until your lips fall off, but there is always someone who will tell you you're wrong, even if you present a towering pile of evidence. I wish YA would get rid of the stupid option altogether.

And by the way, a degree in religion studies or going to a seminary does not necessarily give you absolute knowledge when it comes to the truth. Forgive me for being blunt but that can only come through sincere study of the bible with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The thumbs up or thumbs down reflects how each individual feels. Don't assume all the people who answer are Christians.

It would be interesting to know how many of the thumbs down votes at the cited link were from professed atheists who would give thumbs down to any answer that disagrees with their view.
Note: I say "professed atheists" because if you put them into a foxhole with incoming fire they would no longer be atheists.

The thumbs down function is just part of life on YA. I can't count the times I've gotten thumbs down after stating facts, not opinions, with links to numerous sources. Some people can't cope with information that contradicts their worldview.
