I have found that many and most christians and specialliy jehova witness followers push their religion on people in the worst ways. First they try to explain their point of view and explaining that whatever you believe is tottaly wrong and even offensive in the eyes of God. They attack your religion and dont even try to respect your believes because they see them deprorable. I think that people have opinions and they should all be respected not critized. And this goes for Athiest too. Why critize them and feel sorry for them? Its their choice and power to them! Im catholic my self and im also an open person. So why do they critize?

When someone is not interested in talking with the JW he should politely say so. The JW don't "push" their religion onto others. When a person doesn't want to talk with them, they understand and leave.

"Wherever anyone does not take YOU in or listen to YOUR words, on going out of that house or that city shake the dust off YOUR feet." -- Matthew 10:14

The Jehovah's Witnesses take seriously Jesus' command to preach.

"Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit." -- Matthew 28:19

"While I did not hold back from telling YOU any of the things that were profitable nor from teaching YOU publicly and from house to house." -- Acts 20:20

By observing the command to preach, we show to Jehovah that we love him.

"I do nothing of my own initiative; but just as the Father taught me I speak these things." -- John 8:28

We also preach because we want to counteract the lies that Satan is promoting against him.
As Jehovah’s Witnesses, we yearn to share in exposing Satan’s slanders and in sanctifying God’s name before mankind.

"The god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through." -- 2 Corinthians 4:4

"“YOU are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “even my servant whom I have chosen, in order that YOU may know and have faith in me, and that YOU may understand that I am the same One. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none. I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.”
“I myself have told forth and have saved and have caused [it] to be heard, when there was among YOU no strange [god]. So YOU are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “and I am God." -- Isaiah 43:10-12

The apostole Paul showed how important is to preach the good news.

"If, now, I am declaring the good news, it is no reason for me to boast, for necessity is laid upon me. Really, woe is me if I did not declare the good news!" -- 1 Corinthians 9:16

I have no answer for you. But I totally agree with you. When I was a younger teenager, searching for G-d, it was so hard for me. Because I wanted to be close to G-d but every time I tried to talk to someone about it, I felt like I was getting a sales pitch. Suddenly every Christian person turned into a used car salesman. And that is so the opposite of appealing. I felt like I was being sold a ticket into heaven. When I'd talk to my Baptist friends about religion all they'd say was little things about not going to hell. Like, if you weren't "saved" you were going to hell and ultimately, religion wasn't about having a relationship with G-d, but about the way to avoid hell. I could never live that way.

And even in the answers that other people are giving you in this thread, they are still trying to convince you that you need to be born again! I don't understand. Personally, I don't ever try to convince someone that what they believe is wrong. I don't know why they wont do me the same favor.

Catholics are Jehovahs witness favourite religion to pick at, same with most other christian religions. It's because catholics have the bigger numbers, so it's like taking out the big guy when you are in a fight, then it becomes easier. Usually alot of people are ex-catholics that have had a bad experience so they are lashing out, and one more thing, people try to force you to join their religion because they are totally insecure, they feel that if they can convert people to their own religion it will give them the secure feeling that they are right. Also, some people are so brainwashed that they feel that they are trying to save your life and it is their duty, so don't be too hard on them

I think constructive criticism is can helpful be helpful especially when they gang up on some poor soul. I think JW's mean well, but they are relentless in protecting the watchtower. It is very sad that so many do not see that they are being manipulated by guilt.
You cannot feel sorry for them if you want to help them. You must testify to the Blood of Christ. They do not understand anything but what the watchtower prints out for them to read each week. My brother was a slave to the watchtower for 20 years. And for 20 years I prayed for his release of that cult. Now I that God has answered that prayer I am praying for his salvation.
Pray for them, because without the prayers of the righteous they are lost.

Thank you for the wonderful post.

A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to "recruit" a householder, or get him to "convert". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!

That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.

(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

i'm not attentive to Catholics attempting to sell their faith directly to others. yet i understand that Jehovah's Witnesses won't affiliate with human beings of distinctive religions in a non secular group putting, or you would be accusing them! Mormons would possibly blend in such circles, yet because of the fact they are reason on getting everybody to think of they are orthodox Christians (whilst they don't look to be) they may well be agreeing with others and does not be pushy. Evangelical Christians may well be in all probability to describe their perspectives given an proper risk. yet i might ask you to reassess no count if merchandising one's specific 'type' of religion to those of differing faiths equates with disrespect. It will not be able to be so if completed courteously, in seek of permission and listening to the different's perspectives. in specific circumstances that's the only thank you to get human beings thinking regarding the will of weighing up concerns of religion against difficult recommendations! whilst the day dawns which you would be able to't bypass to a extensive non secular accumulating and question something, or all and sundry distinctive, democracy could have died.

I am buddhist, and I think that most people will agree that buddhists (like most Catholics) do not try to force their religion on others. Many of us are on a spiritual path that we have chosen or was chosen for us by our parents. The parental influence is quite strong, and some people are in essence "brain washed" by them. I think that is a little strong, but you get the point. "Do not question authority!" is a mantra in many churches. Leaving the question of how you "chose" your religion aside, I do not think that it is helpful to try to put someone off the path that he/she has chosen. It is better to remain silent, and answer questions truthfully but only when asked. It may be more harmful to make a person question their chosen faith and become atheistic, than it is just to let them remain on the path. The Buddha said that there are a thousand doors to nirvana (or heaven if you like). The point is there is no one correct way, except that you practice T. L. C. in the religion that you are in now, Tolerance, Love and Compassion. I think that is the key that unlocks all one thousand doors.

Beacuse a lot of people misunderstood Jesus when He said be a witness to others. They misunderstood as go and do witnessing.

Be a witness means when others see the change in you and what God has done in your life, they will also want to know God.

Jesus did not ask people to go out and bag, drag or critize other people into believing Him.

Jw's are trying to earn their way to heaven-yet Jesus says for by grace (undeserved favor ) are you saved by faith, and that not of yourself it is the gift of God lest anyone should boast." Ephesians 2:8&9

Jesus said "I am the way the truth and the life, no one cometh unto the father but by me." John 14 vs 6

Jesus also said to go to all the world and preach the gospel. Matthew 28

yet Jesus as the bible shows did it with love and compassion and nailed it-when he went on the cross and said "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." Matthew later chapter too

Jesus did not condemn people he loved them as they are and says He still does and knocks on our heart door to come in deliver from sin and be our friend if we ask him in." Revelation 3:19&20

have a great day and great question too. in his amazing grace thanks

what they do is actually wrong .But they think that they are doing you good ,or they are helping you .This is what they think ,they don't hate you becouse if they hate you they would let you go to hill(the place only Jahova witnesses never go to) But from thier point of view they try to protect you and lead you to the path they are following.I never think evel of those asking others to follow thier religion becouse I know that they have good intentions.I didn't meet Jahova witnesses before but if That happens I'll not discuss my religion with them .I will listen and thank them for the information and thats all.
