i thank God that i'm blessed with so many good things but yet I always desire for things that I guess would fit into the "WANT" category.... does God get upset by this? I feel guilty...

The more you have the more you have to take care of. You should only want what you need. Not everything is about material. Material just weighs you down.

In terms of your religion. It is hard to acheive that higher level of counsiousness, of self awareness when you are distracted by marterialism. But dont be too hard on yourself. Most of us Americans are brainwashed by advertising. Some even by their own churchs. How many church leaders have you seen with a shiny new mercedes, or tv evangelists with a private jet. I think to that extreme, its overindulgence. Maybe even a form of gluttony. Especially when you are collecting in the name of charity to overindulge yourself.

But the first step is admitting you have a problem right :) Its a very good thing you are becoming aware that you have unessecary 'wants'. Most people cant even tell the difference between want and need anymore.

I think it's human to want things. Do you want them badly enough to steal? If they are only in the 'want' category, then just let the want float away. And focus on those good things that are in your life. I don't think G-d gets upset by that. G-d has created humans to have free will, and He knows we have imperfections.

God doesn't get upset for us being who we are. There are certain things we want in life that we don't necessarily need. God understands.

Just be sure to always be open to what He wants for you.

I have just been pondering this myself the last couple weeks.

Everyone 'wants' things but feeling guilty is a wasted emotion.

No, he does not get upset. Think about it, if an all-loving, powerful, omniscient God got upset, he wouldn't be all-loving, powerful, and omniscient, he'd be a head-case. So you decide.

The scriptures tell us: "My God will supply all your needs through Christ Jesus."
wants, desires, longings can be the want list you are referring to

appreciation is accepting what you have and thank God for it.
