I acknowledge the my comments about religion might appear to be rude. However I don't think they are any less rude then telling someone "you need Jesus to be saved" I don't go around trying to convince people. However when the subject comes up I want to be very clear where I stand. Where should I draw the line about religion?

Just wondering. My sister disagrees, wants my nephew to learn everything about religion but is ok with not forcing him for any career or even some cultural choices.

I would ask, why won't you let them learn about religion when they are old enough?

And if it had no impact on your home life, other than the child spending (more) time at church and reading the bible and praying before bed in their own time?

For the record, I am a child (well, decided when I was 15, I am 17 now) who has decided to follow Christ, however my parents, or my dad in particular, had shown much discontent towards my decision. However, I believe that my faith has changed for the better and has revealed talents to me that had yet been undiscovered before going to church.
I just want to know what parents would think. I personally do not see the big deal!

Satanists believe in freedom, Christians would gladly turn our nation into an oppressive Theocracy.
Satanists love life, Christians pray for the world to end.
Satanists are tolerant of other faiths, Christians are trying to conquer the planet through conversion.

Do you believe in the future scientist will discover and find ansewrs to questions we cant solve today?

If yes, are you not going off faith? There is absolutely no evidence scientist will discover anything;for all you know people might stop being interested in science and there wont be any scientist in the future. Then if we were to assume there would be scientist in the future, you're still going off of faith that they will even be able to discover anything.

So weather you want to accept it or not,are you not still going off of faith to a certain degree?Even new parents when their child is born has faith that their son/daughter will grow up and become something great;but for all they know(and I dont wish it on anybody) their son or daughter will grow up to be a crackhead or something no very respectable. So weather it's in God or in science, faith is involved to one degree or another. No?

It seems like people like to bash us using old doctrines that the Church doesn't officially promote anymore, like the Blood Atonement, Adam-God, or Polygamy-Required-For-Exaltation doctrines... It almost seems to me that if we just acknowledged that our leaders used to teach this, they'd probably get bored of insulting us and find something better to do... no? It's kind of like the bullies that quit picking on the little kids when they quit crying about it and decide to be nice to the bullies.

What do you think?

Bishop Gregory Aymond, head of the bishops' Committee for the Protection of Children and Young People, said he was encouraged by the decreasing numbers. There were 1,092 abuse claims in 2004, 783 the next year and 714 last year. Still, he called the findings "sobering."

Just wondering why Catholics are still protecting the Church by contributing money? When you give money to your Parish you DO SUPPORT CHILD ABUSE.
