Science is a process of investigation and discovery. It would be stupid in the extreme to assume that the sum of human knowledge will stop today.
That involves no "faith" or "belief", but simply an extrapolation of historical data.
Nice try though.

Again with the flawed logic. We can see and read about the progress of science and technology. There will never not be interest in learning and thought and trying to make life better and longer. It's been going on since the beginning. Fire? The wheel? Steam engines? Telephones? We know science will progress as is has since man learned how to use simple tools. There's no faith involved in it for me.
And the word is whether.

The word "faith" does not always have to be tied to non-existant beings. I have faith that I will wake up tomorrow, but I might not. I have faith that science will find more and more answers to health problems, etc. Yes, I had faith when my son was born that he would grow up strong and sturdy, and he did. But it wasn't faith in a non-existant being, it was positive thinking and hope, completely natural for humans. Had I had nothing but negative thoughts about him he probably would have grown up mentally or physically crippled.

I believe scientists will continue to answer questions to which we do not have answers today. This is faith based on a long standing history and evidence of current research that there is significant reason to believe this will continue.
I wouldn't say that we will ever have complete answers and to be all knowing. This is not faith, but conjecture. Perhaps one day in the very distant future, but I am unable to make any statement based on current information.

properly, the two make your man or woman factor, or discover your factor. what's up with factors anyhow? stay, Love, snicker. discover your man or woman purpose, do what you sense is sweet. Atheism is basically one assertion of disbelief...the the remainder of that's as much as you. frightening isn't it? Having to decide on numerous those issues for your self? there is the incredible thing approximately atheism. no longer everybody may be atheist, as a results of fact some can't have faith they might desire to discover their very own way in this international. however the real question is, whether there replace into no *factor* could that fluctuate something? whether you think of there might desire to be a factor, that doesn't create a God. in case you certainly need the certainty, you seem on the data, decide on the certainty, and stay with the implications. You dont seem on the data, examine out with effects, and then decide directly to reject the certainty as a results of fact the implications are too radical. no longer asserting atheism is the "reality" as a results of fact i'm no longer prepared on absolute statements, yet whilst it replace into, then basically no longer purely like the implications shouldn't supply up you from embracing it; logically that's. some human beings can no longer psychologically undergo that burden, and so might desire to embody faith.

obviously you have no differentation of faith in humanity and faith in god, two completely different things. its not even so much faith more of an inference really. science has been making incredible discoveries at an alarming rate, why would it suddenly stop, the only logical reason is that a severly abrupt and definite incident climaxes over the entire world with effects so profound that every human loses their basic instinct to learn.

From my little dictionary:
faith n 1: a strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny; "he lost his faith but not his morality" [syn: {religion}, {religious belief}] 2: complete confidence in a person or plan etc; "he cherished the faith of a good woman"; "the doctor-patient relationship is based on trust" [syn: {trust}] 3: institution to express belief in a divine power; "he was raised in the Baptist religion"; "a member of his own faith contradicted him" [syn: {religion}] 4: loyalty or allegiance to a cause or a person; "keep the faith"; "they broke faith with their investors"
Of course I have faith. You can find my faith in that little quote from my dictionary under #2.

Buddhism is constantly working with science, and much is already being uncovered. Usually science starts with a concept and works through the "problem" via logical progression of thought... often called "scientific method" where applicable. I don't call that faith... but whatever works for you.

We can believe something based on faith, or we can believe it based on facts.
One fact is that people have consistently sought to solve problems and questions.
Now sure, it is possible that what has happened in the past might suddenly stop. But it is far less likely to stop than it is to continue.

When you toss a bowling ball down a lane... do you need faith to believe that it will continue rolling?
No- I don't think that believing that science has a future is faith.
