Yes.

Catholics share the belief in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including the Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Episcopal, and Methodist Churches.

The Communion of Saints is the belief where all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When you die and go to heaven, you do not leave this family.

Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints, you, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary the mother of Jesus, Mother Teresa and Pope John Paul II.

As part of this family, you may ask your family and friends living here on earth to pray for you. Or, you may also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Andrew, or your deceased grandmother living in heaven to pray for you.

Prayer to saints in heaven is simple communication, not worship.

And prayer to the saints is optional not required.

With love in Christ.

before i start, you say you're christian but he is a catholic saint, catholicism is a branch of christianity just like baptists are a branch of christianity. anyway, back to your question. yes, you can pray to St. Jude. The reason why everyone who isn't catholic says it's wrong to pray to saints is because they think that we (i'm catholic) are praying and asking THEM to answer our prayers and worshiping them. This is very far from the truth. You see, when you pray to a saint, they take your prayers to God. They themselves do not answer the prayer. For instance if you pray to mary the mother of God, she would take your prayer to God. Here's another way of looking at it. Have you ever asked someone to pray for you? It's the same idea here. all we're asking the saints to do is pray for us for a certain reason. I hope i helped.

I recently went to a psychic and you'd be surprised who is out there listening to you!
According to the Catholic tradition, St. Jude does nothing but intercede, or go to, Jesus/God on your behalf. I guess he does a good job of it because he's got a great reputation for going to Jesus to take care of a lot of lost causes for people.
You know what, pray however it makes you feel good. If you want to pray to St. Jude because you feel you have a lost cause, and you think he can put in a good word for you to the Man, go right ahead. And, while your'e at it, pray to Jesus as well...

It is POSSIBLE but if you are a Christian and not a Catholic why on earth would you want to pray to a DEAD saint when you can pray to our living God through Jesus. Personally I would say that is breaking one of the commandments....Thou shall have no other Gods before me.......praying to an idol is doing just that.

Well considering there is the Blessed Virgin Mary and 10,000+ canonized Saints not to mention the beatified Blessed in Heaven and when you attend Liturgy of the Mass your asking all the saints & angels to pray for you. There is a long list of Patron/ess Saints for specific things. But what you're doing when praying is asking them to pray on your behalf to God. When I pray I generally pray and meditate on the Rosary. I hardly ever have the need to ask specific Saints for their assistance, but once in a great while I will pray to a specific Saint.

Ah!Yes! St. Jude the St. of lost causes! Why pray to him? Just take it to the Lord himself. As a Christian you know that you don't need to go through any other Deity! Would you like to tell us why you feel like things in your life a re a lost cause?Sorry once a counselor always a counselor. Those types of remarks slip out of my mouth. However, we can and will pray for you. Be blessed!

I don't see what the problem is. No one is going to walk in on you and beat you over the head with a pick Axe or something, right?

And if praying works for you, than pray. As a UU/atheist, I don't pray, I meditate because it is relaxing, but I understand the whole concept of it.

Hell, pray to Linmargar, God of the Lawn (Yes, I did just type in a random set of letters and delete some to make a name-sounding word) if you think it will help.

I see no reason why you can't. I don't think you can go to jail for praying to someone else's religious figure, and if you do, do what us Americans do best; SUE THE BASTARDS! (Sorry if you're not an American).

Occasionally I will look up at the sky and ask "Why me?", even though I don't believe in god.

Catholics and Christians are two seperate religions.

You can pray to St. Jude, who are we to stop you BUT why would you if your not Catholic. I think it's wrong to want to label yourself as being part of a certain religion and then want to go outside that religion. It's makes no sence.

Don't pray to no catholic idol, pray to God. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

No matter your religion or denomination, when you have somewhat of a dilemna, you ask your friends to help you pray for guidance.

In Catholicism, we view saints as friends who have passed on. No difference.

The Roman Catholic Church just follows its established system of when to attach the word saint to a name formally, but we believe that we are all called to be saints - to be friends to others who are ready to help.

If you are Christian, do not be afraid to ask your friends to help you pray.

Catholics are Christians. And you don't PRAY to saints, you honor them. You can ask St. Jude to pray for you, that's generally how it works.
