I disagree that Christians are trying to enforce theocracy. It just exists, and it has nothing to do with secular governments. Christians don't pray for the world to end either, unless you're talking about the world of double-dealing that Jesus said he conquered.

You're right about the last part (except that the planet has already been conquered, because it's God's and he gave it to men). Ecclesiastes 5:18-20 says: "This is what I have observed to be good: that it is appropriate for people to eat, to drink and to find satisfaction in their toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given them—for this is their lot. Moreover, when God gives people wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God. They seldom reflect on the days of their lives, because God keeps them occupied with gladness of heart."

I would suggest that you're at the bottom of a pond looking up and thinking you can see everything. Satan is the ruler of the air. (Excuse the mixed metaphor.) If you think the universal spirit is in the earth, that's just Satan wanting you to look down while he goes past.

I think in some ways it is, or at least in the case of Christianity as it's practiced by a lot of people out there. You can't paint all Christians with the same brush, just as you can't do that with all Satanists. I met plenty of intolerant Satanists back when I was one, and I have known plenty of tolerant Christians.

Unfortunately, most people believe that Satanism is about baby killing and sacrificing animals. Nothing could be further from the truth! If one really researches the movement, (and by researching I mean ACTUALLY **gasp** reading books by actual practitioners and anthropologist who have studied the movement rather than succumbing to the erroneous propaganda the media promotes) most people would agree that it is actually life affirming. Basically, the goal of Satanism is to free yourself from psychological hangups and faulty learning. They employ behaviorist psychological principles to free people from their "hang ups". A very good book that devotes a section into the realistic practice of Satanism is a book entitled "Drawing Down the Moon" by Margaret Murray. She comes as an outsider but presents an unbiased view of Satanism.

I myself am not interested in practicing Satanism, partly because I find the premises are overly hedonistic and some of the early leaders seem way too creepy-scary and too inclined to attention seeking to be taken seriously.

I'm sorry to say that you are wrong. There are two kinds of satanists those that worship satan and atheists that use satan as an icon of their selfish desires. Satanism is basically the worshiping of yourself and indulging in all of your own selfish desires. Christians should tolerate other faiths if they aren't then they aren't being Christ-like and therefore aren't acting like Christians. Satanists don't love life they love themselves and only care about themselves satanists would gladly sacrifice others for their own happiness. Satanists aren't any more tolerant of other faiths than Christians and by the way maybe you should check your own beliefs because you are being very prejudice towards Christianity. By the way Jeancommunicates you just proved his point for him it is not our place to judge others only The Lord Almighty, Yahweh himself is allowed to do that.
