There are no fairy tales in the bible. The Bible is God's Word and TRUTH

I believe the word you're looking for is metaphor...

A metaphor has a certain "truth" that is not implied by the term "fairy tale"...

I too think that the bible cannot be "literally" the whole truth... and that it is missing some pages...

But perhaps you worded it that way to try to anger people who really like the Bible and it's teachings... that would be sad indeed... if that were the case...

you would have better things to do than get people angry for no good reason, right?

Personally, I like the metaphors from the good book about Lott's Wife turning into a pillar of salt...

As a gay person, this metaphor has a completely different spin for me...
It's a complete contradiction in theory... and makes God the most heartless character in the book...
And I believe that there is some truth in that... life is not always fair and God will not always do what is compassionate... sad but true...
There are many people who must abandon what is expected of them (and even disobey God) in order to stay compassionate... who would forsake their own righteousness to be kind to the less fortunate in God's eyes...

I think I would be like Lott's Wife... turn back and witness...

My favourite story in the Bible is how we all get to stand before God some day and give an account of every word and action that we have committed. Then God looks for your name in the "Book of Life",if it is there you stay with God if not then you go to hell. I like how Jesus forgives those who trust in Him and live forever with God. Where you will spend eternity? Are you 100% sure that God is a fairy tale? Are you 100% sure where you will end up once your soul goes into eternity? Is making jokes about God and His people worth a ticket to hell?

I enjoyed the story of Ester, but I'm not sure if it falls as a fairy tale because there were no magical or miracle-like elements. Still, a woman being pampered like she was is just damn awesome.

Other than that I would have to say what I've read of Revalations thus far.

The Bible is not a fairy tale. The Bible is completley true. How do you explain how we got here? We just werent here.

Why dont you stop mocking Christians and their beliefs. It is really uncalled for and I do not like having to defend my beliefs to people that are only out to make fun of others.

God bless!

I like what is probably a factual tale: The Book of Ruth. The story of how David's acestors hooked up.

Modern Christians will claim Boaz, as Ruth's "gaol" or "redeemer" is a "type" of Christ, and Ruth, coming out of paganism, is either a type of the Israel returning from the Diaspora, and/or the Church coming out of its Babylonian captivity.

I think it's just an ancient version of J. Howard Marshall and Anna Nicole Smith, but I'm an older guy dating a younger woman and I like to think it might some day work out as well for me as it did for Boaz.

Mine is this story about how angels come down and have sex with human women and those women give birth to giants.

next is the story about the talking donkey

and then the story of a little kid shepard that kills a 9 foot giant with a little rock and sling.

Adam and Eve!

It's great to see a woman go against a stupid rule in the pursuit of knowledge. I see Eve as a hero who was wronged by those around her, either emotional imbeciles (Adam) or misogynists (God). And the god who punishes her body with labor pains like something out of Jack the Ripper is priceless.

If you asked me, the Adam and Eve myth could be flipped and changed into a fairy tale in favor of women's liberation. Eve wanted to know, unlike Adam. Her curiosity for knowledge and desire to understand morality (the difference between good and bad things) was diametrically opposed by the males around her. And she did succeed in rocking the boat.

Because going on a religion forum and calling Bible stories "fairy tales" is a really good idea. It won't offend people at all.

You speak of things you know nothing of
in the hope that it will influence those who do?!?
What a waste of your time!!!
which could be used to much better activities, don't you think?
Or is it just that you haven't found any yet?
Keep digging... You'll find something!
I hope so for your sake and sanity!!!
God bless you anyway...

The fact that you set yourself up as His enemy
is surely due to the inaccurate knowledge
you have of His Word...
It's plain to see!!!
