There's many forms. However the two main ones are Theistic Satanism which views Satan as an actual Deity. Then there's LaVeyan Satanism which sees Satan as purely symbolic and is more a form of self worship. LaVeyan Satanism aka Nietzschean Satanism is more Atheistic in it's views. I actually agree with Anton Szandor LaVey but then again he got alot of his philosphies from Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche. I guess some might say that I'm a Satanist simply because I agree with certain aspects of it even though some LaVeyan or Nietzschean Satanists might not agree with me.

Satanism is a religion that accepts "natural law". Many Satanists do not like using the term worship because they consider it to have a subservient meaning which is incorrect. It simply means to pay homage to, respect, or honor. Regardless of how a particular Satanist views Satan (archetype or actual divinity), worship is still implied. Satanism is adversarial by nature. It opposes anything that denies us our nature, but this does not mean that it condones stupidity (quite the opposite!). Life is the supreme law of Satanism (Live well!)

One of the priorities of Satanic practice; is the dissolving of the Ego; that proud pompous and falsely arrogant aspect of our psyche that would lead us to believe we Know; when in fact, we know nothing. To "See" how many people get it wrong; is the act of make believe in having authority over a complex understanding that is wrongly considered objective and thus universal for all people. There are levels and layers to Satanism that ensure that no-one individual can command authority over its tenets. A wise sorceress once said "The Left-Hand Path of Satanists, is that of the spiritual orphan. No-one can aid or help others in their Quest, to know or understand Satan."
Hence, there can be no getting it wrong. Merely the recurring advent of popular consensus that makes it seem right. Each individual that attempts to follow its path will determine for themselves how far they go by the work and effort they put in. Most do not make it to the gate, because most people don't want to truly Know. I hope that you can discard your pretense of arrogance and replace it with real scorn based on actual experience with Satan.

It seems like a strange, modern form of social Darwinism to me. Most satanists do not believe in a deity, though they have rituals and incantations like other religions. It also celebrates hedonism.
Very strange, if you asked me. Xerxes is the name of the son of Satanism's founder.

I actually used to be a Satanist, so if you're looking for someone to say devil worship you won't get it from me.
Instead you will get a few websites I'd recommend to anyone to see what Satanism is:

It has nothing to do with evil spells or cults or anything in that negative light. It's those who see Satan in another light other than the popular belief of most christian religions. He rebeled against a higher power, and was unfortunately punished for it unfairly.
