King James Version: 2 Corinthians 12:2. I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. ------- New American Bible: 2 Corinthians 12:2. I know someone in Christ who, fourteen years ago (whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows), was caught up to the third heaven.

I know they're pretty much the same, but what's the difference between Methodist, Catholic, Presbyterian, Baptist, Lutheran, Episcopalian, etc?

Isn't that the same as denying a friend's son as being theirs but insisting that the both of you are still friends?

This just hit me as I just saw a bit of Nightline just now.... Something about non-believers and such, then I thought about how many people I've ran into in my life who say that God is God, but Jesus is not His son, and that Jesus is a "messenger". I know that it's written that people will have their own beliefs on who God is and all and this will never change, but I just want some input on why some feel that Jesus is a messenger/regular man and not the Son of God when he ROSE FROM THE DEAD, WALKS ON WATER, HEALS, AND ANSWERS PRAYERS, ETC.... A regular man/messenger can't do those things!

Just a thought.... All input is welcome but please, NO RELIGION BASHING! Simple kind input!

How do you feel about Thomas Paine saying this!!!!!

"The Bible is a book that has been read more, and examined less, than any book that ever existed"

Also

"The Bible: a history of wickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalise mankind"

"Priests and conjurors are of the same trade"

"Yet this is trash that the Church imposes upon the world as the Word of God; this is the collection of lies and contradictions called the Holy Bible! this is the rubbish called Revealed Religion!"

I have a problem. More like a curse. I won't get into specifics, because you would all hate me. I'll leave it at this, it is sexual in nature. It is wrong, filthy and vile. There are no support groyups for people like me, none at least I want to associate with. I have these thoughts and urges, but I have NEVER acted upon them, and I never will. I would kill myself first. Every night, I beg God to take it away, to make me normal. I know He can, He's God. Why won't He? My life sucks, and I pretty sure it is because of this, maybe not God punishing me, because I did not choose this, but like some messed up form of Karma. I've lived with this for 10 years, and I don't know how much more I can take. Why won't He help me?

I am writing an article and so far I have James 2:17-18 written down to include somewhere in it, but can you think of any other verses that can help prove the point that volunteering, helping people, and SHOWING love is essential to the Christian faith?

You know, like a fossil of a lizard thats front appendages are not legs but are not fully developed wings yet either, or some similar fossil of something that is not fully developed into what it is changing to. I mean, they must have some right? They claim they have proof. So, why insult me? Do you do that because you realize I am right? That evolution is just trash and it blows your belief. Then just show us the proof.

Back in the early 1600s, the Pilgrims and later the Puritans settled in America to escape from the religious oppression of the European ruling authorities. If it were not for that religious opression, do you think that the U.S. would ultimately have been created with the right to freedom of (and freedom from) religion???

Basically, it says that if there is a god, the simplest answer should be assumed. Meaning that if we just live our lives with the information we have, we will not suffer at the hands of a deity. But if there isn't a god, the simplest solution is to live life to its fullest and be a good person.

Both require not inflicting pain on anyone. And both inherently require reason over faith.

3 buildings were found, #1 was a smallish dog house with a roof and 4 walls, #2 was house size with a roof and 4 walls, #3 was quite large with a roof and 4 walls. 3 scientists studied them and showed how very small houses faded out and gave way to larger and larger buildings over time. A 4th concluded that they were all built by the same carpenter.
