Isn't that the same as denying a friend's son as being theirs but insisting that the both of you are still friends?

This just hit me as I just saw a bit of Nightline just now.... Something about non-believers and such, then I thought about how many people I've ran into in my life who say that God is God, but Jesus is not His son, and that Jesus is a "messenger". I know that it's written that people will have their own beliefs on who God is and all and this will never change, but I just want some input on why some feel that Jesus is a messenger/regular man and not the Son of God when he ROSE FROM THE DEAD, WALKS ON WATER, HEALS, AND ANSWERS PRAYERS, ETC.... A regular man/messenger can't do those things!

Just a thought.... All input is welcome but please, NO RELIGION BASHING! Simple kind input!

I believe in the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob but not in Jesus

and no, denying Jesus is NOT the same thing as denying G-d

I am denying the man, I am denying the false messiah, I am not denying G-d

if the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, MY G-d, told me that Jesus was the son, than yes, me then saying "no he's not!" would be the same as denying a friend's son

but the thing is, G-d DID NOT tell me that, and G-d didn't tell any Jews that Jesus was the son....

there is this concept in Judaism, called national revelation

when G-d was revealed on Mount Sinai not just to Moses but to ALL the people of the nation of Israel it set a standard of how G-d was going to deliver to us the biggest and most important gifts and news...it would be to the people as a whole, not to individuals
this way there would be no need to talk of proof for everyone would be witness to it

this did not happen with Jesus, there was no national revelation where everyone was shown the truth and couldn't doubt

there was/is/always will be doubt about Jesus and thus we know that Jesus is no part of G-d....or, at least no part that is different than the rest of us

No religion bashing, but I think you are directing that at Muslim and Jew (now, is that religion bashing, saying you are right and they are wrong?).

Only Christian believes Jesus Christ is God's son all other people on earth, don't.

Some people believes in god, but not the Abraham's god.

The Rose from the dead, walk on water, heals .... bla bla bla, other then the NT where is it documented, 50-90 years by 20 different authors through word of mouth? Perhaps you could provide some proof outside christianity circle, it would be a better proof then "Yes he is god, because my book says so".

With due respect, you cannot impose your idea as he is god's son to others simply because you THINK he is god's son, other does not think so.

Because God is far above what you associate with him, and Jesus will testify against you if you deify him.

[005:072] Surely, they have disbelieved who say: "God is the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary." But the Messiah Jesus said: "O Children of Israel! Worship God, my Lord and your Lord." Verily, whosoever sets up partners (in worship) with God, then God has forbidden Paradise to him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong doers) there are no helpers.

[005:073] Surely, disbelievers are those who said: "God is the third of the three (in a Trinity)." But there is no god (none who has the right to be worshipped) but God alone. And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall on the disbelievers among them.

[005:074] Will they not turn with repentance to God and ask His forgiveness? For God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

[005:075] The Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, was no more than a Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother [Mary] was a Siddîqah [i.e. she believed in the Words of God and His Books (see Verse 66:12)]. They both used to eat food (as any other human being, while God does not eat). Look how We make the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) clear to them; yet look how they are deluded away (from the truth).

Many people of other beliefs in G-d, i.e: "Muslims" or "Jews" believe it is wrong to ascribe a "trinity" to G-d. (I take out the o out of respect to G-d, for noone really knows how to truly pronounce His name, because it is Holy and also gives a distinction between a "god" and the G-d of Israel). However, even from the beginning G-d was a "trinity". He made us in His image and so we are a "trinity" also. See Genesis 1:26-27. G-d is spirit to us as humans, He is incorruptable spirit, but He has two other aspects. An incorruptable soul and body. The body of God was made manifest in Yeshua (Jesus) to become our salvation. G-d's "soul" which many do not speak of, is the "essence" of who G-d is. His energy and power... which is how He is the eternal self-created One and can create. His Spirit is His "mind", "will" and "emotions". These aspects can be found in us also, although of course we cannot create ourselves in a "literal" sence, because we are not G-d although "literal" does not necessarily mean "more real". Also, I think of a spirit as being able to release and absorb what is righteous and good or what is unrighteous and evil. This power is given to us by the gift of choice and free will, which G-d gives to everyone, because force or manipulation is not righteous, good or Holy and there is no unrighteousness or evil in G-d at all and so He required of Himself that He gives us choice. O.k, having said all that, others do not believe in G-d's Trinity, at least as yet and so they do not know. There are many reasons for this, but one of the most understandable is that they think that it is blasphemy to believe this, because they read and interperet scripture differently.

You weren't there. you don't know that. If you think that is true, there are countless other miracles taken from other religions all over the world. Soooo, are there then multiple children of God? Are there multiple Gods? Billions of people believe in some other form of religion, you think they have it all wrong?

how christians always seem to think they are SURE jesus performed these miracles too. How many other things have been passed down through recorded history that later turned out to be false. This was during the times that humans did not even understand what the moon was, yet you think it would be IMPOSSIBLE to be fooled/misunderstand by miracles? OR ..... that it is completely impossible these things happened but totally different from the stories past down. How many other things have we got wrong in human history? Astronomy, medicine, geography, biology etc. etc., yet it is COMPLETELY stupid to think that religion juuuuust maybe might have screwed up too?

well? do you believe that Vishnu sleeps upon the coils of Nagas and dreams the universes into existence? do you believe that the Lord Krishna is the Supreme Personality of the Godhead, a manifestation of Vishnu in human form? some people say the Krishna never existed or that he was a powerful chieftain but still just a man.

but Krishna twirled a mountain on his pinky finger and slayed many demons ... a regular man, not even a powerful chieftain can do those things!

the Jesus story is just one of thousands of myths. every culture has it's myths and religions based upon those myths. there's no reason for me to believe that your chosen myth is any more valid or any more symbolic of spiritual truth than the myths of other cultures.

ROSE FROM THE DEAD

prove it. Besides--Elisha's BONES raised a dead man

WALKS ON WATER

So? Moses parted the whole Red Sea.

HEALS

so have many many prophets.

ANSWERS PRAYERS

Prove it. That's a matter of opinion.

In my opinion, J*sus has done absolutely nothing special.

I believe in G-d but not J*sus because G-d told us in the Tanakh who the messiah should be and J*sus just does not fit the bill. For me to worship him would be idolatry. Avodah zarah. Very very bad.

Peace,

Just know I am not trying to be rude when answering this, though it may seem that way. I am just blunt.

as a count of certainty jesus replace into no longer "jesus" and all Torah observant Jewish adult adult males on the time have been noted as Sons OF G-D. So during the designs of a pair of adult adult males in background the international worships an basic jewish guy (black) as a god. jesus or Yehashua ben Yoseph replace into no longer a god, yet a progressive.

in Islam we belive that Allah the one and Only GOD gave him power (or Allah allowed him ) to do these things to try to prove that he was the messenger of Allah peace be upon him,. if someone came to you today and said iam a messenger from Allah, you be like yea right, but if he said iam messneger from Allah, and healed people, brought people back to life and so on .. iam sure you start to belive. (if that is Allahs will) and we belive in All the messengers and phrophet peace and blessings be upon them, ... you know they allways say that Isa (jesus) peace be upon him was Allah, cus he had no father. Yet Adam peace be upon him and eve peace and be upon her didnt have a father or a mother. so what dose that mean? any ways we all have our own veiws i suppose your right. but some are based on proof and some are based on man and satans desiers

Kindly put- The only evidence we have of Jesus ever existing is stuff that was written long after he supposedly died. Around 60-70 years after.
