Woman? with big hair and sparkly boots? Man? with a 10 gallon hat and a six shooter? Is this offesive to texans? I wouldn't be offended if I was a Texan. Is this offesive to god? I wouldn't be offended if I was him either.

There was an article in the Seattle Times that people responded to in letter to the editor. I think it is a religion. Their religious works are to cause others to not believe in God and deny God in the community or not bring God up anywhere. Claiming separation of God (Church) & State.

I believe this. I have a very active imagination. At my worst moments I could believe I'm speaking with the devil or God is talking to me or I'm living in that elusive spiritual realm. At my best, I know to be reasonable and it's just after effects of my Christian upbringing. I'm not Christian. I'm agnostic. I think being athiest is too presumptuous...what should I do? I need a firm grasp on reality, but I feel my perspective is damaged by this Christian upbringing.

I posted a question yesterday about "god". One of the answerers attacked me for not using capital "g' when writting about god, and he was very rude. I picked up the matter with him and tried to sort it out privately. I went to an extent of offering a public apology if he can subtantiate his discomfort. In return he send me a rude email. Still I referred him to my past postings where I publicly apologise to other members for saying what they found offensive. I'm not in a position to disclose his name, other than to say he is a christian, and/or the exact contents of his emails.

My question is - is there anything wrong with me or anybody else not using capital "g" when writing god?

Ok. I'm black, and I live in the South. I know there are still KKK about, and they still have clandestine meetings. The hate is still there, it's just revamped a bit.

I deal with it. They are not trying to harm me, they have the right to hate me just for being here and being black. I don't hate them back, and they pose no threat to me. It's their right to feel how they do.

Now why, Oh why, is it not my right to hate Islam? Muslims pose a direct threat to me (us all) and I hate their doctrine (you know, being a female and all with a mind). I'm not harming them by my feelings. Why is there a push for all this PC in the world? Are we allowed to think for ourselves anymore?

And NO. I don't "blindly believe Fox news and CNN". And I'm sure they are not all terrorists. But it is in their Qu'ran to kill, be intolerant, oppress and beat women, and slaughter in the name of whom they call God.

I have no right to hate that? I can be hated for just being black, but I can't hate "That"?

Check out this video, it's a woman flying completely off the handle and acting in a very unchristian way in response to her son's admission of atheism:

Was anyone's else experience similar? Anyone have interesting stories about when they told their parents or friends that they were atheist?

I had an interesting experience last night...I've been struggling with depression - really struggling. I feel a deep, physical, inconsolable heartache. Last night I went to the bookstore, and I bought The Message along with a 365 day King James devotional Bible. Immediately, and for the first time in years, I felt some relief, the beginning of the loosening despair. That saying "let go and let God" - perhaps there's something to it..... My husband's reaction, laden with fear of fundamentalism, tempered my hope.

I long ago gave up my connection to God because the organized religion to which I've always belonged is so disappointing. The words "being fed with spiritual food" meant nothing because the food was illusory and had little nutritional value. But the hunger has remained and the pain of separation has grown. Are there others out there who can laugh and love and have faith without dogma? Is there is hope for salvation even in the Bible Belt?!

What experiences can you share?

"You have made your statements and come up empty. I do not allow messages because of that reason. If you didn't make your point here, you won't make it bothering me. "

How can you witness to me and show Christ's love if you won't have dialogue with me?

Is it bothering you to talk about Christ?

I bet you were a good pastor...not!

I consider myself Christian, but I would like to know, what do you believe about the Character of GOD? Is he a spirt? How come we call Christ and God one person. When Christ prayed to God when he was on the earth, was he praying to himself?
Why when he was baptized did God speak and the Holy Ghost desend like a dove. To me it seems like there are three separate people. Three people in one is just confusing to me.

Also, in my mind I would like to believe that God looks like a man, someone I can speak to not some undescribable spirit. My pastors and other church leaders have never been able to explain these concepts, and I have received varying answers.

What do you think?

People become Atheists every day for many reasons, why are you so sure it can't happen to you? Your child dies, or the obstacles in your path become too large, or something inside of you just starts to feel empty. I could lose my salvation over one freaking beer, crawl back into the bottle and never care about God, Jesus, my son or anything besides where my next drink is coming from. Why are you so harsh to unbelievers? Why do you think it's impossible for you to join them at any time?

but the moment anyone questions Islam, it's like breaking the ROE in war or something? Accounts get deleted over fact sharing and such. Why? I see people literally clown Christians and Atheists every day. Why is that allowed?

Serpent "Satan" says; For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." gen.. 3:5

Genesis goes on to tell the punishment for the action; man will work, women will have children.

The the Lord says "Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil; and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever." gensis 3:22

The lord never says that what the serpent told Eve was a lye. The lord actually confirmed the validity of what the serpant had told Eve.

So the serpants words were truthful?
We are as Gods?
So, if Eve had not gone against the word of God, none of us would be here?
Why is Eve called the mother of all living things and not God?gensis 3:2
Was God lying by withholding the truth?
When the book the Secret "Law of Attraction" states that we are our own gods, how could that be a lye when the bible supports that theory?God himself says so!
