Any sane person will admit that even if they are sure they are right, they can't "know" for sure what happens after death.

Then why bother people who aren't the same religion as you but are happy about converting?

If they are enjoying their lives and not hurting anyone, why not let them be?

We say we "KNOW" things, but we can't know for sure. There are some Christians that will point this out repeatedly about the Big Bang, and they have a point. Even though we have very good reasons to believe it, we weren't physically there, so we can not be 100% certain.

We have also never been dead, so we can not be 100% certain of what happens, not matter how convicted we are that we have the answer from God, or the gods.

You may have good reason to believe that the Bible is true, and have what many consider enough evidence to believe in it.

But we are all human, and no one "knows" 100%.

I feel like many people, and I'm sorry to generalize, but especially Christians don't grasp that.

"Until people want to know God the Bible is out of reach for them on an intellectual level, useless to them. Those who do not believe can not comprehend God's word."

Why do some Christians always use this hysterically funny (considering the source) and ignorant way of dismissing everyone else's belief but their own? "Oh - you're just too stupid to understand the bible."

Hate to break it to all you Christians using that as your security blanket, but my reading and comprehension is up to snuff at a collegiate level. I'm sure many Atheists and non-Christian Theists also have college level reading and comprehension skills. When we say we've read the book and don't believe - it has nothing to do with not understanding it. On the contrary, I think it means we do get it.

Ok sure, he is the arch enemy of this God fella, and supposedly God is this great all powerful perfect being, but where are you getting your info from? Either God exists and is giving you the info himself, or he doesn't, and you're giving it all to yourself. Either way, you are just getting it from one source. Why doesn't anyone let Satan give his side of the story? Why do you think God tries to keep you so far away from him and calls him the father of all lies? Maybe because God is trying to keep something from you himself? Because God is power hungry and just doesnt want to loose followers? How do you know God doesn't lie? Because of a warm feeling in your bossom? Yea, he has you whipped. Please, nobody say "I've experienced Satan through Sin." No, you've just experienced Sin. Satan is about letting everyone help themselves, not everyone doing as much bad as possible, that's God talking.

Jews, gays, pagans all are against god. Why does that sound so much like something from "The Enternial Jew"? Why are Christians so paranoid?

Does the dad 'force' the boy to be Muslim? What if the boy desires to be Buddhist like mother? Even more farfetched...a Christian or a Wiccan? What does a Muslim dad do? Sine it's my understanding all kids born unto a marriage with a Muslim male and a female of a different (presuming lesser) belief, must be raised in Islam "muslim"?

N'est-ce pas?

I think the religions that believe re-incarnation into animals is bad, are totally wrong! What is so bad about being an animal? They don't have to work, they don't have to pay bills, they sleep all day, play when they want, don't have to "take care" of their families, and just live a relatively carefree life. Does anyone else agree with me that being an animal is not that bad? Well, except for the poor animals that end up being abused by a**hole humans....

I was raised to be Christian or be damned, okay, I know perhaps I am dealing on a false premise and there's no point answering if you're just going to trash Christianity, trust me, I've done it all. I wonder about the so called 'unforgivable sin' I'm convinced I've commited it. I'm convinced I don't exist to God and that I live in hell. Then sometimes, I reason with myself and believe there must be no God, hence why I don't need answers from non-Christians. I could give that answer swiftly. What is the answer working on a Christian premise?

As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

In another question i received an answer that contained a sentence pretty much saying that god requires blood for atonement. He did ask for animal sacrifice in the old testament, not to mention the human sacrifice he requires in Second Kings (11:29-39). And then there is Jesus... his own child (or himself according to some doctrines) who was scourged, crucified, and stabbed.

It begs the question, did god create living things only to spill their blood for his own pleasure?
