To VLR;
Atheist logic, does not even search that gift was given to you by a "friend"
It is just a gift, or a thing to be benefited but ,,going beyond the situation is not necessary, because that gift had legs and came to your door by "itself"

Yes. If there is design, there is a designer.

Now, prove to me that the universe is designed without appealing to false or misleading statistics.

Atheism has a logic which is primarily grounded in the world of science, this means that we do not accept that which cannot be proven. the greatest example is the theory of evolution and the fossil record and also the field of geology. this has proven that the earth is many million of years old and that life has evolved through a series of natural mutations. contrast this to the creationist view where once there was nothing and then suddenly a super being made everything. I,m sorry but in all honesty the theory of evolution makes more sense and is much more credible than the creationist theory. on the side of evolution we have evidence, cold hard facts validated to the highest scientific standards and on the creationist side we have the bible, a fictional piece of work wriiten by people of dubious character and whose main goal has been to stamp there authority and dogma on the western world. nature is here by an accident live with and enjoy it don,t try to convince people that it is a creators gift, and if you do try at least give us the evidence to back it up and not the same old tired boring and jaded verses from the bible.

That's not what atheism is about at all. Seeing the universe and denying their maker, creator? That's partly true. Your comparisons do not go with the universe concept. The universe is complex and made from who knows what... Being an atheist is, not believing that god did it. Nor did anything. The universe is a work of art, but god is not an artist, person nor supernatural being. Greek beliefs, Indian beliefs and so on, believed in different kinds of gods. They followed them as much as any religion follows theirs today. And were killed for it. Would you also question their logic? Being an atheist is about looking for a way that it all makes sense and questioning things. How was god created? Did he also have an artist? But then who was that? One last question, Does religion have any logic?

The problem with atheism is that it starts with the untestable hypothesis that the only truth there is must be measurable by the scientific method, an assertion which in and of itself denies the scientific method.

To represent this mathematically, consider:
If I refuse to allow the existence of a variable, then the equation 2 + X = 5 is unsolvable. As long as I disbelieve in the existence of X, I am left with 2 = 5, which is false. The minute I allow for an X, all manner of otherwise impossible things become possible. In the same way, the minute one allows for a creator external to and unmeasurable by the anything in this universe, then one must allow for the possibility of all the rest.

Here then is the question for the atheist - if you are truly on the quest for scientific reason, what makes you so sure that the scientific approach is the only one which will hold up to scrutiny? Can you TEST your assertion?

Blessings!
Tom

I am not an athiest.

I do not believe in the biblical account of "creation".

I believe that there is a supreme cause in the universe and that cause is intelligent and does what it does for reasons that only it knows.

I am not a "intelligent creationist" either.

I think that religion has done a very poor job of maintaining relevance on the topic of creation.

I definately see the cause/effect relationship in the universe, but I cannot for the life of me ascertain how the traditional judeo/christian concept of creation fits the universe either.

Sorry, I don't intend this to be a slap at your religious beliefs. Truly I don't.

How the universe came into being, what METHOD the supreme and ultimate positive potential used to create it all with is unknown to man at this time. Trying to insert religious causation is just as frail as trying to "prove it all" through only scientific method.

There is room for both.

Where's the art? Where's the meal? You're comparing reality itself to a product within reality and then asserting that the reason must be outside of reality! Yes, that's logical.

Where's the building? Where's the chair? Not all atheists are logical, but you seriously need work on your analogies.

Weak analogy. All the things you mention are created by humans, for which there is a great deal of evidence. I'm pretty convinced that humans exist, because I can see them.

God, on the other hand; there's no evidence for Him. Not only that, but even if the universe was proof of God's existence, it wouldn't be an indication of His character. Could you look at a beautiful painting and determine whether or not the person who painted it was a child molester?

In my opinion, there is no such thing as a true Atheist...the old adage was, "put them in an open boat at sea for a couple of weeks with no food and little drinking water and that's proof enough"...the world would be a far better place if there was less religion and more God...they are not the same.

your artist is not the athiest's artist
your cook is not his/her cook
your carpenter is not his/her carpenter
your architect is not his/her architect
a building is made by the human hand
the universe is created by nature
how do you prove the existence of your creator?
it is your belief that prove your creator
it is the athiests belief that prove his/hers as well
appreciate the diversity which without the world would be such a dull place. after all you could ask this question because athiests do exist!

Yuo are comparing things that are clearly man-made to something completely different. Do you understand the term "false analogy"? If you didn't before, you should now. As for denial, do you admit that your religion has been the source of innumerable atrocities, or do you continue to deny this and say the offenders were not true practitioners?

More logic and solid proof than religion. Try looking into it instead of spouting a poem that you heard from someone else. Because the logic of this little thing doesn't work. Now, if you could only explain why you can't respect others...
