In another question i received an answer that contained a sentence pretty much saying that god requires blood for atonement. He did ask for animal sacrifice in the old testament, not to mention the human sacrifice he requires in Second Kings (11:29-39). And then there is Jesus... his own child (or himself according to some doctrines) who was scourged, crucified, and stabbed.

It begs the question, did god create living things only to spill their blood for his own pleasure?

I fudged the reference, sorry. It's Judges, not 2 kings.

NOT for His own pleasure.....
Even God bows to righteouness and justice.
In fact, He insists on it!
Hebrews 9:22 informs us:
"unless blood is poured out no forgiveness takes place."

What bible do you have? There is NO Second Kings 11:29-39.

Second Kings chapter 11 goes from verses 1-21.

Did you just make this up? If you're gonna ask a question, give us validity. God shed his own blood through Christ so that we wouldn't have to and He did it to END sacrifices.

So, no. God isn't bloodthirsty but you are "knowledge-thirsty." You don't even know how to read a bible if, in fact you ever actually read one.

First of all there is no such "human sacrifice" required by God in the Bible. Second Kings chapter 11 ends at verse 21. You made up your reference and are trying to mislead people about the content of the Bible.

The animal sacrifice that he required in the Old Testament was intended to give his people Israel a way to satisfy justice. They were a nation living under God's rule. As in any nation there are penalties for breaking laws. Livestock were among the most valuable possessions that they had and sacrificing them was a high price to pay. Secondarily there was the symbolism that the violations or sins of the person were projected on to the animal, and as that animal died, so their sins died with it. Saying that God requires blood for atonement is a misrepresentation of most normative theology. Jesus mimicked this symbolism when he willingly gave himself up to be crucified. He took the sins of the world on himself and as he died, our sins died with him, thus opening the way for God's mercy and justice to be rectified and for sinful people to be given forgiveness.

Also, it was people that killed Jesus not God. We as humans are the bloodthirsty ones. We are the ones that kill and make war, and do all sorts of other nasty things to satisfy our greed and ensure our own way of life. Not God.

The bible is certainly full of burnt offerings and blood sacrifice.
