just wanted to see how many would say yes, though i doubt it will be many.
And dont throw any anti-bush or anti-iraq slogans into this, just want to see how many christians would do as the pope orders.

For future reference only Roman Catholics are bound by the Pope's decisions/commands. All other Christians are thier denomination mainly because they do not believe that the Pope is an extention of the first Apostles and therfore doesn't speak from God. Not that he isn;t a holy person it's just that all other denominations believe that the Bible not the Pope and Bible are the ultimate source of God's will. So using the term "Christians" is not entirely accurate in the case of your question.

I'm not Catholic. Even if I were I would not since to participate in a war goes against what Christ has taught us.
Constantine "became" Christian to use the Christians for an army...Martin Luther developed the notion of a "just war".
I do not believe this is what Christ would have wanted.
Yet, if it came down to my family being attacked, on the spot, I don't know how I would react, honestly.
No human religious leader is my commander, and certainly isn't my savior.

It is the responsibility of the Jews to keep the Holy Land. They are the ones that "own" it, as the LORD gave it to them til the end of the Earth.

Why would Christians want anything to do with the Holy Lands? Just because JESUS was born there, doesnt mean anything.

Remember, the "temple" is with in us now, its not on some piece of ground anymore. The Earth doesnt mean a thing, its people that mean anything and everything.

No, I would not, being a Christian do anything to "retake" what is not mine. Let the Jews have it, and reclaim it themselves.

I wish you well...

Jesse

And what would that Holy Land be???

We are not told to "worship" any specific country or area.

Not all Christians would follow the Pope. To many, he is a man just like you and me and has NO direct "ties" to God.

I follow Christ, which is the definition of a Christian.

As I am not Catholic, I do not acknowledge the authority of the Pope. I do recognize that most (at least the current ones) have been ggod men who have a sincere desire to serve God and to do God. I honor and respect them for that. But I would not join a Crusade or any other cause just of the Pope's say so.

As a Christian (not of the Catholic faith), the Pope holds no special place for me. He is no doubt a good man but he is still that...a man...not God. Therefore, it is not likely that I would do anything in particular that he said...let alone join in a war against other countries for the sake of Israel. If God wants Israel to have her land back, then God will see to it that it gets done.

Of course not. The pope is not an authority in the church. There is no scripture authoring any military conquest of any city anywhere in the name of the church. The church is a spiritual kingdom, not a geographical one. What would we do with Jerusalem anyway?

No, I don't follow the Pope. According to the Bible, Christ is the head of the church.

Blessings.

I doubt it. For starters, I'm not a citizen of Italy, and he can't order Americans to any war. Though, I highly doubt that he'd start a war after all his hard work to try and build a bridge of peace between us and the Muslims.

If God would tell me to do so I will. The problem here is that the Pope is not and never will be God so my answer is no.
