Don't you think that if a man today claimed to be a messiah he would be labeled a religious fanatic and the leader of an evil cult. Why did it work so well with Jesus?

I continue to hear many complaints and criticism from various people becuase Mormons have to pay 10% of their income to pay their tithes, however, even though I am not Mormon, it seems that if you are able to use it as a tax write off, you actually wouldnt be paying 10% of your income becuase you would get some of it back, it actually doesnt seem that bad. Am I wrong, or have the wrong idea? Also how does the church know how much you make? Do they actually look at your pay stubs, or do you pay via the honor system? Thank you for all of your answers.

Would Jesus vote or would he consider it interference with his mission, a side track? A Christian follows Christ.

Rev 12:1And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

Rev12:5And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

The statue of the Virgin Mary at Notre Dame shows a golden woman standing on a crescent moon.

The practice is common on All Saints and All Souls days. It is also found in many non-Christian settings across the globe. The specific question here is how the practice is explained as a part of Catholic theology and liturgy. Suggestions for further readings large or small would be helpful. Is there anything in the standard works of the Catholic Church that deal with the practice? Also would like to know how the practice made its way into Catholic practices.

I keep on readin that sentence. 'There are no atheists in Foxhole'.

I did a little research on it. Foxhol is a little town in the north of the Netherlands. It has 1628 inhabitants. It has no church. All the people that live here are atheist. All of them.

There are no Christians in Foxhol.

So, why would anybody keep telling this awful lie about there being no atheists in Foxhol?

condemn gay marraige, criticize tatoos and support the death penalty. But, when you point out that the Old Testement also says you should be condemned for wearing clothes of mixed cloth, touching shellfish and put to death for working on Sundays, they suddenly "remember" that the New Testement is more important. If you tell them Jesus said to turn the other cheek and to love your enemies more than your neighbors, they can't help but quote the Old Testement again.
You do realize that the only people Jesus criticizes in the entire Bible are hypocrites?

Should we follow rules from the Old Testement or not? Or should we just continue to use the verses YOU agree with?

I was just staring at a HUGE pile of spaghetti on my plate, and I thought that you might have called.

Anyway, I was writing in my girls poetry gym this morning, and the poetry was just flowing out. My poetry partner Mark then posed a really wonderful question.

What do you think of when you hear the word "Easter"?

Obviously, I think of little bunny rabbits running all around us, introducing us to a land of Utopia, and tears start to stream down my pretty face.

OUCH! My special friend Natasha just hit me in the hip with a rubber band. Now people are going to say that I WALK FUNNY.

I would adore hearing your responses now. I'm going to pop in a TobyMac CD and I'll be back to read them!

Thanks! (Celestia says; "Bonjour, comment sont toi ?" That means "Good morning, how are you" for you silly non French speaking types.
