I believe they do.Someone said that Hinduism doesn't. However,I disagree, cuz I heard of "Devil Dancers" from India, in the Hindu religion. They are possessed.

In Africa, u see people possessed all the time.

Japan and China, say that people can be possessed by a fox or a bag-er. I believe cuz people act like wild animals when possessed.

Christian religion has many accounts of demon possession on the bible, and even modern day possessions.

The Caribbean has lots of "Santeria" and "brujeria", and u see people foaming from the mouth and eyes rolling back, and acting like a wild animal.

So, yes Every culture has stories of evil spirits and such. Even Native Americans.

Hinduism doesn't. We are all flawed in one way or another, and until we become one with God, we will continue to have rebirths. But there is no such thing as an all evil entity possessing us, telling us to do bad....it is in us because of unresolved Karma.

To hot-rica...what you are referring to is:
Bhootha Aradhane
This dance form is widely performed in the coastal areas of Karnataka. The Bhootha Aradhane or devil worship, includes a procession of idols depicting 'bhoothas". This procession is characterized by the beating of drums and bursting of firecrackers. After the end of the procession, the idols are placed on a plinth. Then, a dancer personifying a devil dances around the plinth with sword and jingling bells. The dancer dances vigorously at one point of time and then slows down, signifying that he is now a divine person.

Bhootha Aradhane is devil worship, not Hinduism - BIG difference!

Usually, yes!

However, esoterically what that really means, is that certain individuals indulge in some kind of prolonged state of imagination...

In the Philokalia, Bibical scholars announce that,"evil has proved to be nothing but imagination"...

Sure they do. It's a perfect excuse for bad, anti-social behavior.
