I was just staring at a HUGE pile of spaghetti on my plate, and I thought that you might have called.

Anyway, I was writing in my girls poetry gym this morning, and the poetry was just flowing out. My poetry partner Mark then posed a really wonderful question.

What do you think of when you hear the word "Easter"?

Obviously, I think of little bunny rabbits running all around us, introducing us to a land of Utopia, and tears start to stream down my pretty face.

OUCH! My special friend Natasha just hit me in the hip with a rubber band. Now people are going to say that I WALK FUNNY.

I would adore hearing your responses now. I'm going to pop in a TobyMac CD and I'll be back to read them!

Thanks! (Celestia says; "Bonjour, comment sont toi ?" That means "Good morning, how are you" for you silly non French speaking types.

The word Easter comes from a fertility festival honoring the goddess Estre.

Perhaps you mean the feast of the resurrection?

When I hear the word "Easter=Eastre=Ostara" I think of Wiccany-woo, the Fertile Mother who spawned the mighty Ássatrúblah and all the Aenurds, Vanurds and my ancestors oh ya ya ya may their mighty swords have strength, ya ya ya.

Easter=Eastre=Ostara means lock and load, it's tall tale time! I'm boasting that I'll shoot wildlife and cook it because I want everyone to think I live a really exciting life on the edge. In reality, I don't leave the house and I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a shotgun anyway!

I'm going to cook up a big batch of Boobentúben soup now - fresh from a can like the ancient Wiccany-woo mothers used to make.

Fluffy Bunny Clone.

If you were going to make fun of me, you'd think you'd have at least taken the expected stab, but obviously you seem hung up on thinking I'm a fluffy Wiccan or something. I find it hilarious that you seem to have your religious stereotypes so confused.

Easter=Eastre (Ostara), Which to me means lock and load, it's rabbit hunting time! There's just too many of those pesky cottontails running around and I need a fresh rabbit for the Hassenpheffer I'm fixin' on making later in honor of the Eastre.

I will give my answer in a poem I wrote concerning Easter.

REFLECTION ON EASTER

On Easter day men gather
For festive celebration,
In almost every place we know,
Throughout God's vast creation,

Some dress in fancy clothing,
They wear one day a year,
Some gobble Easter candy,
While others guzzle beer.

Bright colored eggs are hunted
Every Easter day,
And so to all appearances,
Things seem bright and gay.

But oh how sad the Lord is,
And how God's heart is broken,
For men in all their foolishness,
Have missed the words He's spoken.

This day was meant to honor Christ,
Who died and rose again,
A bruised and bleeding sacrifice,
For vile and sinful men.

The Resurrection of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is why I celebrate Easter. It is the most important holiday because it gives me positive hope that I will be resurrected to live with Him forever in a place where there is no evil, no sorrow, no tears, no pain, and nothing negative. I now possess eternal life and when I die I will finally be in a place where there is nothing but love, joy and peace.

It is a pity that the four people who gave me a thumbs down don't know Christ as their Saviour and so cannot possibly have a happy Easter in the very best way possible - with thankful hearts worshipping the one who died and rose again for them and loves them even though they scorn to hear the good news of His sacrifice for them.

Those who know the Lord would gladly acknowledge what is written in the poem because they know that Easter is very special and the most significant event ever to take place on earth - the resurrection of the only one who can free from sin, death and hell.

Jesus, the Cross, the Resurrection
Easter Joy

Jesus came to earth,
To show us how to live,
How to put others first,
How to love and how to give.

Then He set about His work,
That God sent Him to do;
He took our punishment on Himself;
He made us clean and new.

He could have saved Himself,
Calling angels from above,
But He chose to pay our price for sin;
He paid it out of love.

Our Lord died on Good Friday,
But the cross did not destroy
His resurrection on Easter morn
That fills our hearts with joy.

Now we know our earthly death,
Like His, is just a rest.
We'll be forever with Him
In heaven, where life is best.

So we live our lives for Jesus,
Think of Him in all we do.
Thank you Savior; Thank you Lord.
Help us love like you!

Hi. Happy Sabbath & Easter.
I think of, appreciate and thank The Lord for choosing to shed His blood to atone for my screw-ups; my sins...

(By the way, the sound of French is so beautiful that if something bad was said, we non-French speakers wouldn't get it...except for the French speaker's body language.)

Take care.

Ah... Cloning... the second highest form of flattery.
Good that you think so highly of Lokasenna. You could learn something from her.
