I'm sure you misunderstood what the bible meant. The bible is written in a sort of symbolic language used in the time of writing. Jesus has nothing against gays he just doesn't agree with their way of life.

Some of the Bible scholars I've read say that pagan sects did not allow women to participate in their rituals, so in fertility rites, men dressed as women performed homosexual acts with the priests in order to encourage fertility. Early Christians wanted to distance themselves as much as possible from the pagans, and one of the ways they did it was to declare homosexuality an abomination. Sort of puts a whole new spin on things, doesn't it?
