A. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Matthew 27:46
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

B. Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit."
Luke 23:46
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

C. It is finished.
John 19:30
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Which of these were the last words of Jesus (they all claim to be)? Which verse is right? Why would they be different if each are the truth?

I have noticed that being told they are going to "burn in hell" is the number one complaint or justification for slander.

But if its not even there, why take offense SO harshly?

(Perhaps you know its there??)

Would their motive be the bible?

Afterall, some believe that for evolution to be true than their bible would be false.

Do some Christians believe that since there is so much evidence of evolution, that both the bible story of creation and evolution can be true? One does not necessarily exlude the other, does it?

(2) I believe there are no god(s)

What would any person have to gain by claiming that the scientific results of this or that is different that it really was?

What is their motive for lying?

I have just deleted a question because I got nothing but insults and asked that your own opinion be given. But I can see that it is impossible for anyone who is a non believer to answer the question of a Christian without passing insults and totally ignoring the request. Christians have been called all kinds of names, and made fun of. Now I would like to know why it's necessary for adult people reguardless of your belief to insult, be rude and also not really answer the question. Don't ask me a question when I am not allowed to answer my own question, and please don't lower yourselves to calling people names. If you aren't adult enough to answer the question in a decent manner than don't bother. I can't help but wonder if Christians hit a nerve when non believers really don't know the answer to a question. Usually people that insult rather than answer the question, don't know the answer to the question - guess that answers alot of questions for Christians.

Someone asked recently if if atheist have ever concedered if they were wrong and there really exist one god (or many).
If we'd ever thought about the consquences I guess. As if lot's of us hadn't bee force fed whit the idiocy from earky childhood.

But the contrary question did obviously not present itself in the questioners mind:
What if you christians and other theists perceptions would show to be totally and uttely false. Have you ever thougt of what consequences that mean to your supposedly long awaited for afterlife in constant bliss and joy for eternity? Or even for all the religious efforts you laid down in this life without really gaining any reward for it? Do you realise how much effort will have been totally wasted in such case?

I consider myself a Christian but like to think of things. Have you ever wondered what the differnce in the world would be if Jesus never arrived? Before and after Jesus the world has the same problems and nothing has changed. I know we have salvation from him but I am wondering what differnce did it make in the world? People did not even know of Christ in the North and South America's until about 1400 years after his death. Also people say that in the u.s. 80% of the people claiming to be Christians are Christians by name only.

In Mark 3:28-29 Jesus says:

"I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin."

Can someone please explain what this means?
Thank you.

When you consider all the religions that exist now, and all the ones that used to exist (like the greek gods) it is a fact that if only one of them is right, then most of the planet -- believeing in the other faiths -- is wrong. Then, that means most people worship the wrong way/god and are in some sort of trouble one way or the other for doing so.

Seems kinda messed up, no? Think, you're living in South America 30 AD, you have no way of knowing about Jesus (for example). How can you go to heaven? Kinda a raw deal, no?

at our church i have recently learned what i've suspected for a long time....Christians are as ruthless as anybody. I had been called to preach at our church for the past 3 years and have filled in on Sunday nights and also the pulpit on Sunday morning when our then-pastor left town. I have also filled in on other churches about a dozen times in the past couple of years. When our pastor left, the church formed a committee to begin a pastor search. I was asked to submit a resume, but i felt at only 36, i didn't have the experience and also with a large family, i didn't feel i could devote the time to be a pastor. after time, and voting down a couple of others, some people in our church who really run much of the business, decided to have their son-in-law run for pastor and recently was voted in....since then, people have asked me why i didn't "run" and honsetly i wasn't asked and also i felt the responsibility was too great. he is in his 20s and has no training? what is the best route?

"The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son (the progeny of Adam) shall not bear the iniquity of the father (Adam), neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die." Ezekiel 18:20-21

again..why Jews reject Christ? Here is info I've found, it seems that if Jewish people would really get the wisdom from their old testament scriptures they'd see Christ did meet the requirements for Messiah
Hair of the Throne of David: Isaiah 9:7.... Luke 1:32-33.
- Isa.9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. (Isa.11:1-5; 2Sam.7:13)
- Luk.1:32-33: He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end." (Mt.1:1
( In these verses God was not meaning a real king put on the throne in a phsyical sense, see how he says "forever, his kinddom will never end"

For many people Easter is a reason to celebrate {the bunny} lol but oh no not the bunny. For many years I said hey the bunny is Easter lol. But no no Easter is not the bunny, Easter is celebration the resurrection of Christ, Helijuah {Amen} I learned that for sure in 2004 after I started going to Church. March 17t, 2004 when I went to my Church for a overnighter and then we went to another Church and Rachel from the colabine highschool shooting, brother and dad was at the Church speaking about her great Faith. What a inspiration to the World that was. {Amen} Then came back to the Church. Had fun with the overnighter, had a choice to come back the next Sundat and I did. And went to the alter. Then as the time went on I learned lots. My friend's Christ Chtist said He did not come in the World to condemn condemn it, but to save it through His father. Trust in Him!

A place to go where we can share fellowship with others, discuss current events and the latest findings of science, get involved in charity drives, help the community, and educate people? A church without tithes where we can welcome others who might be thinking of "going Atheist"? And I don't mean the Unitarian church either (nothing against them, they just don't take a stand).
