Christianity and Islam are alike but ofcourse, not the same.

Jesus pbuh came with the message that there is one God (Allah) and people should follow him. Later, when his teachings were being written down, people changed it a little bit. Then, Allah sent another prophet, Mohammad pbuh to spread the right teachings once again...this is why there are many similarities between Christianity and Islam.

Islam confirm Christianity and Judaism. But Jews up to now deny Christianity. Look what God said about the issue.
"The Jews said that the Christians follow nothing (i.e. are not on the right religion); and the Christians said that the Jews follow nothing (i.e. are not on the right religion); though they both recite the Scripture. Like unto their word, said (the pagans) who know not. Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection about that wherein they have been differing"[Quran Surah 2 AlBaqarah :113]

Islam derives its authoriy from claiming to be "a final revelation" or correction of the Jewish and Christian revelations. As such there are many similar moral teachings, although its very much below Jesus' teaching morally.

Actually the plan of salvation is very different. The gospels and epistles make it very clear that you need to trust Christ to be forgiven of sins, as no amount of good deeds will earn salvation. This is validated to the believer through the gift of the Holy Spirit and in other ways.

Islam doesn't have that concept or validation at all, but is more a presenting of rules that a good believer must accomplish and so hope to be judged worthy of heaven. (From the christian view that is deception and false hope.) I hope many Mohammedans will make heaven despite being badly deceived.

People often want to believe that because these religions are monotheistic and claim Abraham as a patriarch, that they worship the same God. This myth is perpetuated by the Muslims, who want to draw you to them by claiming that Islam is the final of three ways God reached out to mankind. This belief is in error.

These remote similarities between Islam and Christianity are at best superficial. The differences outweigh the similarities.

An example:

In Islam, the Qur'an states rather clearly, "Proclaim: Allah is One. Allah is Eternal. He neither begets nor was begotten." (Surah 112:1-4)

In Christianity, we believe that Jesus was begotten. (John 1:14) Jesus clearly states that He is God: "Truly, truly I tell you, before there was an Abraham, I am!" (John 8:58) Naturally, there are many other examples I could use, but it wouldn't really help.

Now, This brings us to a paradox. Either Islam is right, and Jesus is not God, nor begotten; or Christianity is right, and Jesus is God, and is begotten. We can't have it both ways. Islam will never hold to a belief that Jesus is God. And Christians will not accept that Jesus is not God, and is not begotten. Therefore, they do not worship the same God.

Because, with Judaism, they make up the Abrahamic religions, a group of religions with the same god and idea of monotheism.

Although it can be argued in true Judaism the Abrahamic god is triablly monotheistic (the god of a people) not universally monotheistic.

The flaws in monotheism make all monotheist faiths pretty much act the same way.

Jesus and Muhammad, (along with Abraham, Moses, and all of God's prophets) worshipped God and God alone. It was after Christ's death that St Paul and Emperor Constantine changed the religion Jesus taught, making Jesus into God. Islam and the ORIGINAL religion taught by christ are the same. Muhammad was instructed by the angel Gabriel to correct things, and bring God's pure religion back to it's original form, the same pure monotheism practiced by Abraham.

Because they are diferent paths to the same ends. Even the Catholic Church recognises this in their catechism:
"The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day." (Catholic Cathechism, paragraph 841)

The likenessness is because they came from the same source.

But the differences are immense:

Christianity:
1. you are worthless in the eyes of God, unless you worship Him through Jesus.

2. You are born with sin.

Islam:
1. You are born with integrity, neutrality, until you come of age and realize what youre doing. You have no sin until you come to the age of reasoning.

2. You have the right to worship God alone, from birth, without the intermediate of anyone else, without anyone helping you. No one can come between you and God. It is your birth right.

THEY AREN'T - NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!!

Where are you getting your facts or theories about this? It is absurd. The first thing is that Christian worship the One True God - Jehovah - and His Son, Jesus Christ. Islam worships Allah - who is not the One True God (even Muslims will claim this is true) - Allah is the devil deguised as God.

There are many many other things that are SO very different and don't even compare but don't have time right now to go into that.

Listen - Jesus Christ is the only Way to God the Father - there is no other. Blessings.

One more side note - We can have a relationship and know the One True God - Jehovah - not religion - through Jesus. You cannot know Allah (again even Muslims will confirm this). There is no way to know Allah - but again hence he is Satan or a demon - either way SO VERY DIFFERENT IT IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!
