Ok..... so who else is getting sick of people here on Y!A posing religious questions that seem like "normal" questions about what other people/religions believe, but when you click onto them they are mostly just that person preaching their religion & giving reasons why they feel you should believe their way is the right way?!

Not to generalize, but I notice the majority of people who do this are christians... Not all but most. Personally, i am agnostic/bordeline-atheist.... I don't mind answering someone's general questions about beliefs.... but if it is just the bait to try to make people see your way that is when i get frustrated.

It's like... the question will be "Atheists: Why do you believe what you believe?" and the body of the question will continue by saying "When my god says that if you do not believe in him you will be cast into hell with the rest of the non-believers. The bible says...blah blah blah..." and they go on trying to make you see their way.

Did Satan make up those boxes and put the names Jesus son of Joseph and Mary Magdaline and James and Mary and then Judah son of Jesus just to trick us?

Exd 21:22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart [from her], and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges [determine].

Doesn't this kind of invalidate most Christian Pro-life arguments? It pretty much says that unborn life isn't valued.

" Adam, which was the SON Of GOD." Luke 3:38

"that the SONS OF GOD saw the daughters of men that they were fair....."And when the Sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them..." Genesis 6:2 & 4

"....Israel is MY SON, even my firstborn;" Exodus 4:22

"...for I (God) am a Father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn." Jeremiah 31:9

"...the lord hath said unto me, (David) Thou art MY SON: this day have I BEGOTTEN thee." Psalms 2:7

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the SONS OF GOD." 1 Romans 8:14

Its clear, very clear from the above that in the language of the Jew, every righteous person who followed the Will of GOD, was a SON OF GOD. However, in Jesus' case, he literally becomes SON OF GOD and GOD himself. Why? Is it because of his miraculous birth? If that is really God's plan, then why must God confuse everyone by calling the others His SON earlier ? If one cant be Logical, at least be Rational.

I have known him for a few months... we consider ourselves friends but we are more than friends (but not intimately) and by American culture we may be considered as dating. However he is from Egypt and doesn't believe in dating, men and women can either be friends or get married there is no in between for him (because in Egyptian culture there is no dating). In discussing this issue with others more informed than myself, they told me if he was serious about me he would begin discussing marriage with me soon which we have. I guess I am wondering if it is possible for a man from an Egyptian and Muslim background and an American woman to have a true, serious, and successful marriage. I am really wondering from the perspective of Egyptians and Muslims whether they believe this is possible.

I was miserable for many years and then made a horrible mistake in getting involved with another woman. We did not have "sex", but it was still terribly inappropriate. My wife found out, filed for divorce and has not spoken to me in almost ten months. I confessed to her and asked her to forgive me but she has refused. I know I cannot "make" her forgive me, and as a Christian she feels divorce is justified under scripture. She simply tells people that she will never trust me again and refuses all suggestions of reconciliation. We have a 5 year old daughter who is a terrible victim in all of this and my heart is broken for my daughter. I felt complete shame for what I did, but have made my peace with God. I want to restore this marriage for the sake of my daughter and I know I can be kind and loving to my wife.

My saintly and goldy father has been on the lookout for a strong, wise, and frank speaking man. I believe I have found one all on my own. I kno w it is not womanly to speak so, but I believe he is The One? Is 35 minutes a long enough time before asking my father to speak to this man about excepting my dowry?

Why do they cover themselves? If you’re a male would you prefer your woman to show her skin or cover herself when she is outside? Do you like it when other men look at your wife or girlfriend? for females do you like it when other men insult you because of what you wear?

Jews for Jesus or Messianic Jews are not and never will be Jews. Their movement was created by Baptist ministers as a way to trick Jews into converting to Christianity. No Jewish authority recognizes them as Jews and I can't understand why Jews would buy into this garbage! Did they literally have no concept of their faith and traditions?

I think God goes there naked because of the temparature....She goes there to add coal and wood to keep the fire ablaze.. Yet she doesnt want even the deads to see her. So she kills them once again before she pays a visit to hell.

I come from a very large family, and most churches around here have asked us not to come back to their church because of different reasons ( some of my sibs are adopted, it's "unGodly" to have this many kids, we raise our hands and dance when we worship), so lately we've just had church with our family. My dad shares a devotional and we all pray and my brother and i lead worship. we have a latge basement and there are 6 teenagers and 3 preteens in my family and we gather downstairs with our friends sometimes and have prayer services and praise and worship. we asked our parents if we could start a youth group in our basement and invite kids from our neighborhood and school to come. they are OK with the idea. we'd prolly just pray, have praise and worship, and then take turns sharing devotionals. can we have a youth group without youth pastors?

Can people with Rheumatoid Arthritis who take methotrexate still be blood or organ donors?

Obviously, I have RA and take methotrexate (a chemo drug) along with prednisone and ibuprofen.

For years, I've held an organ donor card and have been on the national bone marrow registry. I used to give blood, but no longer do because of anemia.

I'm wondering if all of this makes it impossible for my organs or tissues to be donated after my death.

Any ideas?

Brigham Young taught that certain sins had to be paid for by the shedding of the blood of the guilty; that Christ's blood wasn't enough. Is that still taught today?

http://www.irr.org/mit/WDIST/wdist-blood-atonement.html

For some reason, lds.org doesn't list talks of early leaders of the Church, such as are included in "History of the Church", "Millenial Star", "Journal of Discourses", etc...
