Exd 21:22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart [from her], and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges [determine].

Doesn't this kind of invalidate most Christian Pro-life arguments? It pretty much says that unborn life isn't valued.

No. There is the matter of the heart. Jesus touched upon this when he told those pharisees and others that wanted to stone the woman.

You know what it is, let he who is without sin cast the forst stone . . .

Could you stone a woman for having sex? I couldn't. So even though the Law may state something, could you bring yourself to do it? Where is the heart of those that harm others? I'll bet that there were plenty of people who found that they could not dash their childs head when the Law expressed that they should. Are they condemned? Not if they felt their heart sorry and leaned to God, instead of reacting in anger to Him. The weakness that would be in the heart to love God and not harm another person must have been a something that God could see as forgivable. It was all about faith and love after all.

Could you kill an unborn child?

I know I'm going to take a bunch of heat for this, and probably all thumbs down, but I will say that abortion is justified in cases of rape, incest, and only when the mother's life is in danger. That's my take on abortion, in a nutshell.
