This is a serious question, what proof have you seen/experienced in your life to verify/justify your faith? Why do you believe. For this question I am excluding all holy writings because after all they are words on paper, I want you, if you can to give me another answer

My neighbor has a 24 foor flag pole, with a six foot flag. He is fat, laszy, religious, knows nothing of the world and thinks Bush is great. The US is carved out of the bloody hives of innocent natives, chiseld out of the bones of desperate slaves and build upon the sweat of Asian Laborers by power hungry, white Europeans, who won the land, eliminating the native population with their deseases. What is there to be proud of? Ignorance?

I think some of it is true, but I think most has been changed for reasons not known, but most likely the people that messed with it did it for their own personal gain. Paul, before becoming christian and becoming it's main spokesman, tortured christians. Hunted them down and killed them. Even though the christians we being treated this way, the message of love and peace was spreading. Jesus teachings of love, peace and understanding, are beautiful and right. Paul became christian after, he says, Jesus spoke to him. Most of the new testament was written by Paul. Isn't it possible they figured they wouldn't be able to kill the teachings,so poison it? catholic church, the things they have done in the past, crusades,Jesus didn't teach that. The catholic church's wealth. The number of priests that have gotten into trouble for you know what.I know most of you are steadfast in your beliefs, but seriously, please think about all of these things. The peace, love and understanding Jesus taught.

everytime your coin toss turned up heads, would it increase your chances of experiencing the coin coming up heads, to something like 2/3, rather than the typical 1/2.

Do you think this might be what happens to people who claim miracles? They just alter the chances, by splitting their own mind?

Christian, i have a few problems...
I'm christian, i believe in Jesus since i was born. I was fall many-many times in my life just about my belief. untuil when i was 11 years old, i make a discision to serve HIM. In the firs time, they looks like they accept me to be the part of them but when it past for 1 year, they are change. And i decided to move to another service area. But i have the same problems. Till now...What should i do?
Should i move to another service area once again? But how if i have the same problems?

And noe i feel like i fall once again. I started like i was loosing HIM and His love in my life. I feel an emptyness inside my heart, i need Him but i don't know how to tell Him how i really need Him. I think He already know that i need him so much...But when i have Him in my life many problems are came to me. But when i'm loosing Him like now, it's not different far. I still attackted by problems...

What should i do?

I figure the only way to get across to christians is to play things on their level. Considering what some of them come up with to try pitifully to disprove evolution... demonstrating their woeful lack of understanding, I figured I would do the same to disprove god. So tell me... is this or is this not totally on the same level:

If I take a gun and shoot a bullet into the sky, it doesn't start bleeding on me... hence there clearly isn't a god.

And how many christians have now been convinced that they have been living a lie?
(Heh... at a guess, I could count the number on the fingers of my 3rd hand.)

atheists are included in religion, because the atheists are just like anyone in a religion - brain-washed/brain-dead and unable to Prove their beliefs.......................... !

I'm a non-English speaker and chirstian(protestant).

A few months ago, I saw an American protestant church on Korean TV.
They were parying for Israel and even bowed to the Israel flag.
Thay said the reason they do that
is one day Jesus will come to Israel again.
I was shocked to see them.
It looks like that they took the the new Jerusalem for the old Jerusalem on planet Earth.

[I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. Revelation 21:2]

But I think the new Jerusalem never means Israel.
Because Israel is now full of wars and suffers.

I wonder if any other American protestants believe Jesus will come to Israel on the planet earth and they respect Israel.

So would anyone care to tell me specifically anything of myself including past (to establish some authenticity & faith in your abilities) and predictions for my future?

If you really have an ability, I dont need to ask any questions.

If it matters & it shouldnt bcos I wasnt really hoping for a horoscope but;

some ppl seem very closeminded, if you were told that say the gov't was behind 9/11, or aliens are real, or egyptians had help w/ the pyramids, or that there is another set of physics we don't know, would you just dismiss it, or do the research to form an educated opinion.

lets assume of course that you believe in karma. so say now you had an affair. you ended your marriage and moved in with your lover. you started worrying about how this relationship started and that it might be doomed. so you split with this person, go back after a seperation. then decide to do the right thing- get married before you live in sin...(i guess i would ask this from a religious point of view) but anybody is welcome to answer. my question is this: you did it WRONG the first time, then decided to try again and do it right...would this change the outcome of the situation? could the relationship work?

I will praise Jesus and raise 10 Christian kids.

And if it lands tails.... I will quietly live out the rest of my life, childless.

1000 of my friends have this same plan: They will praise Jesus and have 10 Christian kids if their coin lands Heads.

All of the kids born as a result of a coin landing Heads, will go and do the same coin toss as their parents did, and so will their children's children, and so on...

10 generations down the line, how many people in the world, on average, will believe that Jesus made their ancestor's coin land Heads, and that their lineage is the chosen one?

Yesterday was the first time I ever answered that question, out loud, though it's been bouncing around in my skull for at least forty years. My wife was the lucky one to hear it. She didn't like it, but after talking about it for an hour or so, she realized she actually would have to give the same answer.

My children, the 3 that still live with Mom and Dad, claim that thier answer is the same as mine, which doesn't surprise me at all.

My wife's initial response, of mortification, taught me that I have to approach the subject from another direction. Most of those called my family and friends, I believe, will respond the same appalled way as my wife, if I put it to them in the manner that I subjected my wife to (that is if I ever tell anyone else. (O: From now on, I have to open with this disclaimer: Although what I'm going to say is the one thing I know is true, my suspicions are that there are many, many truths.

now the koran speaks about 7 heavens. this same concept can be found in the zorastrian holy book VENDIDAD. now zorastrianism is a very old faith and their book was written before mohomed was even born. and dont forget that the zorastrianism had its advent in persia which is iran today. how come islam robbed this 7 heaven story from the zorastrians?

all evidence point that the koran was written by the persian kings (sassanid rulers) to outdo greek influence in iran. so they took this 7 heaven story off the VENDIDAD and wrote it in the koran.
as a former muslim myself i believe this happened, and it goes for almost every story in the koran

did you know this fact friends?

"Let us reflect that it [the world] is inhabited by a
thousand millions of people. That these profess
probably a thousand different systems of religion.
That ours is but one of that thousand."
-- Thomas Jefferson

“As to Jesus of Nazareth ... I think the system of
morals and his religion, as he left them to us, the
best the world ever saw or is likely to see; but I
apprehend it has received various corrupting changes,
and I have, with most of the present dissenters in
England, some doubts as to his divinity ...”
-- Ben Franklin

“Had it been the object or the intention of Jesus
Christ to establish a new religion, he would
undoubtedly have written the system himself, or
procured it to be written in his life-time.
“Of all the systems of religion that ever were
invented, there is none more derogatory to the
Almighty, more unedifying to man, more repugnant to
reason, and more contradictory in itself, than this
thing called Christianity.” -- Thomas Paine
