lets assume of course that you believe in karma. so say now you had an affair. you ended your marriage and moved in with your lover. you started worrying about how this relationship started and that it might be doomed. so you split with this person, go back after a seperation. then decide to do the right thing- get married before you live in sin...(i guess i would ask this from a religious point of view) but anybody is welcome to answer. my question is this: you did it WRONG the first time, then decided to try again and do it right...would this change the outcome of the situation? could the relationship work?

Yes, you can change Karma but it depends on the nature of the action that affected it, it is a misconception that Karma is "fate". Karma is almost scientific. What you do affects others like a drop of water in a puddle, it creates "waves". But some Karma cannot be changed simply by it's nature, if you kill someone, you can apologize to their family, but it cannot bring back that loved one, thus it creates bad Karma for those affected, but in other cases it can be changed. You saw a kitten by the side of the road and leave it there, it creates guilt for you and maybe death for the kitten (bad karma),but then you decide to go back and take it home, then you have saved the kitten and no longer feel bad, and now you have a new pet (good karma). Hope that helps, at least that is how I feel.

If you are a buddhist, then there is a possibilty you believe in karma, and karma is not fixed, it is all cause and effect what you do to others, expect other to do to you too. However, have you ever wondered why you have this affair in the first place? If you decided to do it right and not have another affair, treat your partner as he/she wanted and keep the other party happy, chances are the relationship will work. Remember, it takes two hands to clap.

Remember this... Good acts beget good acts and bad acts beget bad acts. If you do something bad then something bad on the same order will most likely happen to you. It is coming for you so grin and bear it and next time watch what you are doing and think of the consequences first.

Have you seen the problem here?

Your question is full of "you ended" and "you decided". Therefore, you are admitting there is no such thing as karma.
