"Let us reflect that it [the world] is inhabited by a
thousand millions of people. That these profess
probably a thousand different systems of religion.
That ours is but one of that thousand."
-- Thomas Jefferson

“As to Jesus of Nazareth ... I think the system of
morals and his religion, as he left them to us, the
best the world ever saw or is likely to see; but I
apprehend it has received various corrupting changes,
and I have, with most of the present dissenters in
England, some doubts as to his divinity ...”
-- Ben Franklin

“Had it been the object or the intention of Jesus
Christ to establish a new religion, he would
undoubtedly have written the system himself, or
procured it to be written in his life-time.
“Of all the systems of religion that ever were
invented, there is none more derogatory to the
Almighty, more unedifying to man, more repugnant to
reason, and more contradictory in itself, than this
thing called Christianity.” -- Thomas Paine

How about some other quotes from these people:

1. Thomas Jefferson, from the University of Virginia collection: "I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever."

2. Ben Franklin in a letter to Ezra Stiles, 9 March 1790: "You desire to know something of my religion. It is the first time I have been questioned upon it. But I cannot take your curiosity amiss, and shall endeavor in a few words to gratify it. Here is my creed. I believe in one God, the creator of the universe. That he governs by his providence. That he ought to be worshipped."

3. Thomas Paine, page 1 of his book, The Age of Reason: "I believe in one God, and no more; and I hope for happiness beyond this life."

Nice try.

Good quotes - the tragedy is, those fundies who ought to hear it, never will. Why don't ya call it in to Oxycontin Rush, or Bill O'LIEley? See how fast you get cut off. Have witnesses listening who will sign affidavits attesting to the fact that the Right Wing Mafia won't grant you the rights guaranteed under the First Amendment while ranting about what a great Founding Document the Constitution is...then send copes of the entire incident to every major newspaper and weekly newsmagazine in the country...see if this really IS the "Land of the Free".....

If you thoroughly research all of the founding fathers, you will find that the majority of them were in fact Christians. If the majority of the founding fathers were not Chrisians, why then are so many of the documents of this nation based upon scripture and include references to God?

They probably were religious but it illustrates well our modern problem with Christians - They have distorted Christianity into their own egotistical and extremist ideas.

It also shows that although the founding fathers were religious they saw the way the perversion of Christianity was going and ensured in the constitution that religion was excluded from government.

What wise men!!!

Your three quotes from (Paine, Franklin, & Jefferson) and this one (from Adams) are from 4 of major founding fathers. You forgot this one from another founding father:

As I understand the Christian religion, it was, and is, a revelation. But how has it happened that millions of fables, tales, legends, have been blended with both Jewish and Christian revelation that have made them the most bloody religion that ever existed?
-- John Adams, letter to FA Van der Kamp, December 27, 1816

The American founding fathers KNEW that religion is full of CRAP, lies and deception - that is what freedom of religion is = freedom FROM religion and religious lies and deception!

Here's the Solution to being better than religion:

Create a private, personal, direct, divine Relationship with Our Creator and save your Soul from religion.

Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!

Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!

"religion is Spiritual fraud"; "religion is the Worse invention of humanity" - Jesus Christ, Buddha and any one else with Spiritual intelligence.

I am fascinated that the main argument of christians is " Your Reading it out of context". Are we suposed to read one line literally and the next metaphorically like the bible,

There message is plain and simple and the proof that we are reading it right is the seperation of church and state. Save it for church.

Yes, but all these people who you quoted were 33rd degree Scottish rite freemasons, who worship a deity named JahBuhLon, xtianity is the front for the first 3 degrees, then every level after that is more into the occult.
That Jefferson quote came from a mason book.
Albert Pikes book clearly shows they worship Lucifer from the 30th degree onwards.
FUNNY HOW THESE "CHRISTIAN" GUYS DON'T MENTION WHAT GOD THEY WORSHIP -

First, you are taking these words out of context, second, these three were the least religious, most of our founding fathers were devot Christians, and most held office in the church.
