I think some of it is true, but I think most has been changed for reasons not known, but most likely the people that messed with it did it for their own personal gain. Paul, before becoming christian and becoming it's main spokesman, tortured christians. Hunted them down and killed them. Even though the christians we being treated this way, the message of love and peace was spreading. Jesus teachings of love, peace and understanding, are beautiful and right. Paul became christian after, he says, Jesus spoke to him. Most of the new testament was written by Paul. Isn't it possible they figured they wouldn't be able to kill the teachings,so poison it? catholic church, the things they have done in the past, crusades,Jesus didn't teach that. The catholic church's wealth. The number of priests that have gotten into trouble for you know what.I know most of you are steadfast in your beliefs, but seriously, please think about all of these things. The peace, love and understanding Jesus taught.

ok Uncle Thesis, the scriptures written by Paul are the ones where Jesus says he is God and that the only way to God is through him. Since he couldn't kill Jesus message, yes I'm saying, it's possible that he poisoned it since most of it was written by him.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God.....

Enough said.

What we have is a direct result of God.....not man.

You have been listening to a religious leader. The book of ACTS is the halfway mark of the New Testament and Paul had not written anything to this point. How can he be accredited for writing "most" of the New Testament if he hadn't written half of it!? Try thinking on your own! Translations are of man and thus changed from the original manuscripts. Translating into the English language officially started in 1611. That is why the King James Version is considered the AUTHORIZED version. It was the only one up to that time that had the Kings stamp of approval on it. I have read the New King James Version and what they have done is make it politally correct. What has politics to do with the Word of God!? I choose the King James Version because it is NOT politically correct and because you can quote it without paying royalties. Every other version demands royalties. By the way, Jesus said, "Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: for from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law." Luke 12: 51-53 Doesn't sound like peace to me. The peace I have is in my heart, or spirit, not on earth. And, Yes, it does put mother against daughter and daughter against mother. I was raised in "church" but as an adult found that most churches lie. (Your question being proof of the fact.) I am a believer and attend a church that isn't afraid to offend me by telling me I am wrong if it's the truth. Most of the time, the truth hurts and the churches of today are more concerned with getting money than telling the truth! When was the last time your pastor or priest or whatever you call the leader, told you, a woman, to be quiet and be in subjection to your spouse? That is in the bible many times and the only thing they ever say now is that men are to love their wives. If your man loves you as his wife, he will tell you the truth. Like, get your emotions under control or stop nagging, I am the head of the household! Jesus loved the church enough to make a scourge, which is a whip with metal in it, and drive out the money changers and the sellers of merchandise. Enough said. Read the bible and take it as it is written, not how someone interprets it. Pray and worship God and ask God to guide you. Obey God and your spouse!

Before you condemn the Catholic church for the sins of individual priests, you might wish to take a closer look at some of the protestant churches, and the "you know what" that happens there. These too, are not free from such sin; it's just that the Catholic church makes for a more colorful target in the media.

I don't necessarily believe that much of the Bible was "changed", as I do that specific books were chosen or written to support a particular set of beliefs. Threre were many gospels read and used before the canon was chosen, along with numbers of other books that for whatever reason weren't included. You might wish to read some of these, which can be found in a volume entitled "The Other Bible". This is a collection of "scripture" which wasn't included in any of the current versions of the Bible.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. This means that the bible was written by human hands, under the influence and direction of the Holy Spirit, insuring that no error is contained in it.

You wrote that Paul wrote most of the NT, which is true, but I'm not sure what you meant by, "Isn't it possible they figured they wouldn't be able to kill the teachings,so poison it?" Who are you referring to?

There were many wrongs committed by Christians, but please keep this in mind - those are men problems, not Church problems. The teachings of Jesus are pure and perfect. Those sins, like any sin, were committed because people were not following Christ. I think what's important for us is to learn from our mistakes and devote ourselves ever more faithfully to prayer so that we don't repeat them.

God bless.

Its inspired by God.
I by no means endorse the catholic church, and what they teach.. I am a born again Christian. The Catholic church as a generalization has done many bad things. I dont believe they were poisoned, they may have lost the way, but by no means were they poisoned. The Bible was ordained by God, it is not in chronological order, it is in the order that God wanted it to be!

As for Paul, did you read the story how he became saved? He didn't just poison Christianity, he had an encounter with God almighty!

God told the people that He chose what to say and write. It's in the Bible,11Peter 1:21 "For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit" God is the source of all the information in the Bible. It's in the Bible. 11Timothy 3:16 " All Scripture is God- breathed....Since the discovery of the "Dead Sea Scrolls" the accuracy of the Bible has been verified.

Yeah, yeah. And God also gave me a brain to process these words He put in the Bible. One of the most important thing said brain has processed is that the Ten Commandments are unchangeable, unshakeable, and the absolute bottom line.

If you quit applying all this "knowledge" and research and nitpicking every passage and every verse and every different translation the Bible went through before it reached it's current modern English edition, it would all be very simple. Everyone is trying to think their way out of being moral. Just do what God said, is that SO HARD?

You're basically saying that Paul's conversion was not sincere.
That it was a hoax.
Why do you think that?
Why can't his conversion be real?
As for you doubting parts of the Bible, it is not enough to say:
"for reasons not known"
"the people that messed with it"
Those are generalities.
Please have some specifics, or do not bring up the subject.
I agree with you that the catholic church is a pitiful example, but do not confuse Christianity with christendom.

yes its true, we all know for a fact that large amounts of the Bible scriptures have been omitted. but like you say the general teachings of peace love and understanding is there. and being a christian doesnt mean that i agree with the ways of the catholic church. (that is a debate that one really doesnt want to go into) the point is- i believe in God, because of who He is in my life and how he has blessed my life. i think that should be the most important base for your belief.

The bible has a long and interesting history.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible

From the old writings in Aramaic and Hebrew that were possibly/probably codified from a long oral tradition to the latter writings in Koine Greek, they have been translated, interpreted, voted upon (see canonization), translated again, and so on until we now have people swearing that the KJV is the original unaltered word of god.

Amazing.

Remember this....There is no evil and no Good only right and wrong. God gave you rules to follow. Do what he says and you are doing right, don't and you are doing wrong. Ten Commandments that is all you need to live your life. Do right or do wrong it is up to you. No lightning bolt will strike you down, no hell fire will sweep you up if you do wrong but then again no angels will sing your praises if you do right either. Do right or do wrong but remember there are no consequences until the end. In the end the forces that be in charge will look over your life and make a call. More right than wrong and your probably in heaven, more wrong then right and down you go maybe. God is only watching you. Make the choices and remember its your choice not his. Then again maybe you could do wrong your whole life and just say your sorry on your death bed and everything will be forgotten. Are you ready? O.K. PLAY BALL!
